I loved the leather, very soft and supple. I had tried this shoe one half size down and it felt too small, but that leather was stiffer. I would have ordered this one a half size smaller if it was available. The other downside was that the heel area seems extra wide and did slip off with each step.

I love my Ariats. All of my Ariats. I love my workboots. My cowboy boots. And my....slip on loafers? Yes. Ariat slip on loafers. Weird I know, but they're every bit as comfortable, every bit as handsome, and every bit the value I've come to expect from this company. Feet differ between people. So does taste. So you have to find that company that just works for you. For me, Ariat is it. If it's the same for you, these shoes aren't some one-off gimmick they attempted to stay relevant or to broaden their demographic; these shoes reflect the same quality as their other footwear. I wore them for an entire week during a vacation in Mexico where my wife and I walked miles daily. These stayed cool, surprisingly, and even without socks (I mean come on) I had no blisters, raw spots, etc. I walked city sidewalks, along the beach, and climbed up and down rocky shoresides, and the whole time I went on and on about the versatility of this excellent purchase. As others stated, they run a bit small I guess. I ordered a half size up (9 from my 8.5 in their boots) and they fit me perfectly. I wonder when Ariat will make running shoes.....

These fit great for a slip on and wear good too. I’m on my fifth pair. The leather upper does tend to stretch out over time but they last as long as any of the other name brand shoes but cost a lot less.

First off. The shoes are really great looking. I was looking forward to sporting them around the office. The fit was just a little snug across the top of my foot, but still comfortable. Then, I tried to walk. I couldn't make it more than three steps without the heel sliding off and the back of the shoe folding and getting crunched by my foot. I tried to walk across the room three times. Tossed them in the box and returned them. Too bad. Complaints about the fit around the heel are legit.
