I got this to block off our den with a trip to the hardware store I mounted it to the wall and when it’s not in use it folds right up against the wall out of the way. It blends in with the house really well and not just look like a tacky baby gate. The hinges are 4 inches, the gate lock is a standard size. It was no more than $15. I even bout the expansion gate to block off our main hallway. The only con I have is the manufacturer should have thought of this in the development to give more options and as a business standpoint it would be more profitable for the company. Pros it’s everything I expected it would be after my modifications. Once the computer room is cleaned up I’ll post a picture of what I mean by how the gate folds against the wall. Buy it you will be pleased.

Out of the box: great design, fits many size spaces, folds nicely. Outside: DISASTER! Not meant for outside use, period! Paint peeled with humidity, wood pieces separated, and the support feet are not wood, they are fiber board which disintegrated after the first rain. I purchased two and the one that is protected from the weather is holding up a little better but humidity makes this wobbly. Company should have been very specific that this is for INDOOR USE ONLY.

The gate is fine. It would even look nice if not for all of the scratches and the paint defects, which is part of the reason for only giving it 3 stars. It’s relatively sturdy to contain 3 docile beagles. If it were a gate that dogs would be jumping on, it’s not sturdy enough for that. The door through it is very nice so the gate doesn’t have to be moved. If you need it to be more sturdy, it may help to order more feet for it. (Note: the feet stick on with tape but using a small finish nail is helpful... just be careful because the material, MDF, can split when trying to nail it in.) The seller, DB Roth, was not good. They did offer to let me return the item but we had already recycled the huge box, it’s a gigantic and moderately heavy piece to have to box up, load into the car, and drop off at the UPS store. Not to mention, I cannot go without a gate in the meantime. The seller did offer a percentage refund, however, paying even $70 for a gate with that many defects and imperfections in the finish is ridiculous. Towards the end they sent a message to me that was intended for someone else, a return label of some kind for a completely different item. After 6 days, I still do not have my refund returned to my account. Quite frustrating.

Despite the shipping being incredibly inefficient (it looked like they set it up for shipping and forgot to actually send it out for 2 weeks), once it finally arrived I was so happy with it. It’s super cute with the bone cut outs on top, and it comes fully assembled. I gave sturdiness a 3 star rating because it could break super easily. Also the latch on top for the gate is really flimsy and unscrews just by touching it. Each time I latch or unlatch the gate to open/close I need to tighten the little knob. I can see how that would break pretty quickly. I’ve only had it 24 hours at this time, and I’ll write an updated review in a month. But I’ve had my eye on it for a while, not wanting to spend $100 on this, I searched for something comparable with the gate and couldn’t find anything even close, so I went for it. I’m really happy I did, it’s exactly what we needed.

I have been looking for a tall, hinged, multi purpose divider with walk through door. Many units check off boxes for certain features but none checked them all. I found this one and figured it could be made perfect with a few simple additions. I bought this for a very active athletic cat, I knew she most likely would jump over the divider given its advertised height (and she did), but I bought it for its folding and walk through door features (which work great) and added some homemade extensions to the tops of each panel and it has worked perfectly. I bought it knowing what I was getting and with the extensions I made (and knew I would most likely need before purchasing), it works GREAT. Money well spent.

My girlfriend and I had trouble finding a good option like this in person. It’s seems like a great option but both the Dobermans and the toddler opened this bad boy up pretty quickly. The product is good for what it is. It’s sturdy for what it is. Covers a fairly large region. Allows us to manage traffic when we’re around if we want. It just didn’t keep the dogs apart when we adopted another which was the point but at least we learned they wanted to be together right away when we came back and the gate was opened by one of those sneaky dogs. It was difficult to find a better option for us so the price was right and the product overall is quality. Just with caveats.

I really, really wanted to love this gate. I tried SO HARD to make it work. At first it was just too plain flimsy for our small puppy. So, I took the advice of another reviewer and modified the gate by putting on brackets to stick to the wall, which could be stowed aside when not in use. Still flimsy. The kicker of all is that the dog easily opens the gate simply by jumping up on it. My dog is smart, but certainly not a genius. Puppy breaking out is certainly not ideal with a puppy that isn’t housebroken yet, brilliant though she may be. This gate was certainly pricey for a bunch of flimsy wood that doesn’t just fulfill it’s basic purpose. Look elsewhere.
