The ARDEN Tufted Plush replacement Egg Chair Cushion is made with soft polyfiber fill and long-lasting outdoor polyester fabric with C0 treatment. Cushion ONLY - Egg chair not included. Creating an ultra-comfortable indoor/outdoor egg cushion that is also eco-friendly and Skin-safe for your family. Each outdoor chair cushion measures 34 in W x 49 in L x 5.5 in T. The 100% printed polyester outdoor fabric resists fading, so your egg cushion looks vibrant for longer. Skin-safe C0 water protection helps your cushion withstand continued outdoor use, while cleaning easily with just soap and water for low-maintenance upkeep. Inside is 100% polyfiber blowfill, and outside are 11 tufts to help it retain shape and provide long-lasting comfort. Wasn't sure what to expect since ordering for comfort online is always a bit of a crap shoot, but this thing is seriously comfortable. The cover is made of something called earthFIBER, which sounds totally contrived, but basically it's 35% bamboo viscose and 65% polyester. For those who never took home economics, or worked in a garment factory, viscose is a kind of generic chemical name for rayon. Rayon is an interesting fiber that is in fact made from wood pulp that has been turned into a deconstructed mush through a series of chemical baths (lye and some other horribly caustic stuff), before it is reconstituted with the help of some sort of catalyst into a very long extruded fiber (think super thin spaghetti) that is now a semi-synthetic regenerated cellulose (saw dust). It can be made to imitate anything from silk to denim, and it=s extremely cool to wear, so as a cushion cover it makes sense that it would make for a comfortable cushion fabric. The polyester component brings excellent dye retention, a soft hand, and a natural hydrophobic quality, since polyester does not absorb moisture, so if it does get wet it dries very quickly. The fabric weight used feels like a good upholstery weight, not the kind of cotton chintz weight that it looks like at first blush. The tufting of the two cover faces make the cushion completely reversible while also locking in the fiber-fill to keep it from shifting and clumping, so along with being very well filled, the construction feels like it should prove extremely durable for what it is. We don't have the egg chair depicted that this was supposed to be made for, but we do have a sling chair hanging under our deck that looks out onto the water, and while the general ergonomics of that chair design are great, the total lack of any kind of cushion do make it something that gets uncomfortable faster than you'd like, so I thought I'd give this a try on it, and it works marvelously. It's big enough to provide a good head, back and bottom cushion all in one, so that's a win. Not that I need any more excuses to sit on my backside and relax (according to my dear wife) but at least now I can do so in next level comfort, some place that's a little harder for her to find me. ') Considering that this is so incredibly comfortable, it's as if I got a completely new piece of furniture, so at the current offering price I consider that a pretty good value, and while I don't intend to test its water-proof claim, if it does get wet I'm sure the polyester portion of the fabric will help it dry quickly. The reference to "earth" in the fabric name is complete disingenuous hogwash since it was obviously was intended to imply some sort of earth friendliness or ecological consideration, and there is nothing at all earth friendly about the processing of wood pulp into viscose. There is a branded process that recycles the majority of those caustic chemicals used in the process, but that costs more money, and if they were using that they surely would have advertised that fact, but they didn't. So it's fair to logically presume that whether it be from bamboo, beech, or whatever, this particular viscose was made the old fashioned and earth hateful way, meaning that it polluted a poor developing country's environment rather than our own. ... show more

    • Something about it makes me itch, beautiful and plush cushion but makes me itch.

I love the color and the cushion is really plush. for a shaped one piece cushion, I think the price point hits about right. But for some reason, the fabric feels a bit itchy against my skin. Not just or quite scratchy but itchy, like it is treated with something. I don't know if it is so it will work outdoors, too or what. I don't have another cushion made for outdoor usage that does this though. I have sat on it at least twice now, in shorts or a sleeveless shirt and wherever my skin touches it, after a while, I itch. It doesn't have a chemical smell or anything and just touching it with my bare hand it doesn't feel especially rough. I just don't know what to think of it. It doesn't seem to impact anyone else the way it does me, so I don't know. When I sit in the chair that holds this cushion, I have to either have my skin covered or drag a beach towel along. I enjoy other chairs outside but the egg chair was purchased for me and then the cover on the old cushion got burned and this replaced it. Bummer. ... show more

This is our most comfortable egg seat (we have 2 eggs) and a patio set - by far this is the softest and most plush of our cushions. The colors are fantastic. Very vibrant and clean. The build quality exceeds expectations and we have no worries about this functioning long term in our backyard. This is worth the price. You won't be disappointed. Keep in mind you need to have the egg chair for this (this is JUST THE CUSHION). but it fit ours perfect. ... show more

The Sapphire Aurora Blue Damask pattern is gorgeous in person and adds a nice pop of color without being too loud. I received this cushion in the Sapphire Aurora Blue Damask pattern to use as a pet bed. I originally got this for my son because his dog decided to eat the cushions on his wicker couch. He did use these for a while until he bought a couch, and the cushions did work amazing for him. The cushion arrived quickly and looked beautiful right out of the box. The fabric has a rich, vibrant teal/blue damask pattern with nice detail. It actually looks more elegant in person than in the photos. The tufted design gives it a plush, high end feel. It’s sized 34” x 49” and worked fabulously. The thickness (about 5.5”) feels substantial and comfortable. The fill is a good mix of firm and soft. The outdoor polyester fabric feels durable and seems like it will hold up to occasional spills and pet hair. This makes an incredible pet bed! My dogs absolutely love it. It just goes to show that when you think outside the box, you can find new uses for everyday items. Now that I’ve inherited these cushions, they’ve become the perfect cozy, comfy rest area for my chihuahuas. Highly recommend if you need to replace a chewed-up or worn-out egg chair cushion! I don’t know if it’s fiberglass or just really stiff fabric but it feels like my skin is getting constantly poked when sitting on this & it irritates my skin so much I had to stop using it after a day. Also it’s more gray than it is green
