Love this game. I got several mini arcade machines due to space issues in my game Room. They look cool and I live these. NBA Jam is a classic.

I grew up playing NBA Jam with friends at our community diner. When I first saw these home arcade games hitting the market, I had always hoped a smaller one containing NBA Jam would come about. As fate would have it, this gem popped up in my feed one day, and I knew immediately I had to give it a try. First off I just want to say, I love the counter top footprint of this machine more than words can describe. It has been an excellent addition to my man cave. The cabinet is solid and feels well built, as do all the controls. Thoughtful features such as the rubber feet on the bottom of the unit keep it from inadvertently sliding around on my desk. Most importantly, the 7” display is surprisingly crisp, and the colors look fantastic. Another standout feature of this machine is the light up marquee. It just looks great. Combined with the colorful cabinet and controls, it really creates a sort of nostalgic atmosphere in my space. The machine can be powered utilizing either the included AC adapter, or four AA batteries. So, it’s basically ready to play right out of the box. The controls feel familiar in all the right ways, and the gameplay is exactly how I remember it. The sounds and visuals instantly take me back to better times. Yes, the game itself is a large part of that, but this machine is pulling no punches either. The cabinet build/footprint, speakers, controls, and display really tie it all together. I really think Arcade1Up knocked it out of the park with this one. If you need me, I’ll be busy playing my NBA Jam cabinet.

I bought this Arcade1Up NBA JAM Countercade for my nephews, and it has been a lot of fun so far. It includes NBA JAM, NBA JAM Tournament Edition, and NBA Hang Time, which gives them several classic basketball games to enjoy in one compact setup. The familiar arcade-style controls make it easy for them to jump in and start playing, and it has been a great source of entertainment. We have owned Arcade1Up products before and unfortunately have not always had the best luck with them lasting as long as we hoped. Because of that, I was a little cautious with this purchase, but so far this countercade has been holding up great. The controls have worked well, and the games have been enjoyable for the kids. My main complaint is the size. It is definitely compact and convenient, but I do think it could be larger for the price. A little more room and a bigger overall setup would make it feel like an even better value. Even with that drawback, it was too perfect for my nephews to pass up, and they have been enjoying it. So far, it has been a fun and worthwhile purchase. 4 stars.

This is as big of a downgrade as you can get and arcade 1up should feel like criminals charging $150 for this. The screen is smaller, it washes out at any angle that’s not perfectly in line, it has the options for batteries which is a joke. Maybe nets you 20 mins of play. No light up marquee, smaller form factor and terrible physical controls. And yes it’s only a single player cabinet but you cannot choose which player to be which on some other games isn’t a big deal, but here you’re locked into the P1 position so you can’t have the PC partner jump off or use the P2 option for team lineup and it’s not switchable. Doesn’t seem to be dip switch settings either. Bottom line, unless you are desperate for a countercade pass on this until it comes down in price. I wouldn’t pay more than $60 for what you’re getting here. It was beyond disappointing. Seems like they are just getting rid of leftover parts to phase out the countercade line.
