I prefer the cotton band but I work in an industrial environment so this silicone band is my daily band. I’ve had for a few months, cleaned it a few times, and it performs like I would expect. For the price it better last forever. Same day shipping was cool too.

Sadly I got this band and it appears to have metal chips/flakes embedded in it. I contacted Apple and they didn’t have any interest in dealing with warrantying and or even seeing a photo of this. They just pushed the issue back on Amazon, so I have to return it to amazon.If you buy one of these, you may want to check for the same issue.

I have to preface this by saying I am not normally a watch wearer. I got the Apple Watch Ultra for backpacking because of the better GPS and battery life. I chose the ocean band for its water proofness. I found the ocean band so uncomfortable I thought I wouldn’t be able to use the watch. Not only did the band irritate my skin but it made the watch irritate my skin as well. I decided to try the alpine band instead and I can’t believe the difference. It’s so much more comfortable and now I can use and enjoy my watch.
