This does it's intended job, but the magnet on it connects so strongly to the MacBook that if the cord is accidentally knocked, it can pull the whole MacBook off the table/couch, etc. It is supposed to release, but the new MacBooks are so much lighter in weight, that the magnet can overpower the weight unless the cord gets knocked in a particular direction. It releases easier being knocked up or down, but the most common direction one might get knocked is front to back (not that I go around knocking the cable, but it can happen Lol).

This works when it wants to work. I can plug this in several times and no charge, then plug it in again for the 8th time and then it works. To make sure this was the issue I used the one that came with my Macbook M2 and it works the first time so I know its the plug and not the power nor the cord. Gotta get another one but going to buy it directly from the apple store and hopefully that will make some kind of difference. It's too expensive to keep purchasing every six months,

Product is perfect. EXCECPT that original is much tooooo delicate. 1, and I mean 1, puncture into the multitude of filaments that are involved in these cables renders them inoperative. Did I NOT just spend walletfulls of money just to open the laptop of my dreams? These become useless way too easily. Apple, you should be ashamed - we already pay enough for your product do you really need to jam us up just to replace a proprietary cord.?!

Got new MacBook M1 pro 2021 and noticed they have some chargers for it that will charge battery to 50 % within 30 min,was a pleasant surprise Seeing this when i received these chargers plus 6 ft cables another bonus

Works great for my 2021 Macbook Pro M1 Max. It's very efficient, and I actually charge my Macbook off of an ipad charger when I don't have my main power brick around. Same connector and works well. Slower, but I can work and it will still have a positive charge rate, charging faster than I can drain it with the small ipad charge brick
