This is perfect! But it stinks! I mean it Smells! Bad! Literally smells like it was in a swamp! Turns my stomach! However, this actually clicks into my iPad unlike the one I got in the box from Apple included with my brand new iPad mini 6. That one kept constantly falling out my iPad and the lightning power adapter as well. Clearly defective. I couldn’t take it anymore so I purchased this and a new lightning adapter. Now the wires click in and stay in like they’re supposed to! Shame on you Apple! Like paying hundreds of dollars wasn’t good enough for you! I noticed that this cable is internally reinforced in some way and the strength and resilience of this cable is significantly increased. I’m happy with this purchase and I’m sure this will last a longer time compared to some previous Apple cables I’ve had.

In the past, I would buy generic / crazy brand name usb to lighting connectors because they were so much cheaper than the Apple branded cables and they worked just as well. So, when I upgraded to the new M2 iPad Pro, I assumed that buying a generic / crazy brand name USB C to USB C cable, I would have the same experience. Not even close. Charging was fine, data transfer was fine, but video was terrible. Even though the description says that the cable can do 4k video, the iPad Pro would go crazy. i.e. connect, disconnect randomly to external monitor or ipad used as an external monitor (Sidecar). I decided to go Apple branded 2m USB-C to USB-C and I was surprised how much it cost. It was nearly the same price as generics, may be $2-3 difference. All the problems I had with generics disappeared with an Apple branded cable. Save the frustration and spend the few extra bucks on a genuine Apple cable. As for the build quality, time will only tell. The cable is not like the dense cloth covered cable that came with the iPad Pro M2. The cable uses the white flexible plastic casing. I have had mixed experience with the flexible plastic casing in the past. Some have lasted for years with no issues and others have cracked exposing internal wiring. ... show more
