Features

  • The 60W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter features a magnetic DC connector so if someone should trip over it, the cord disconnects harmlessly and your MacBook Pro stays put safely. It also helps prevent fraying or weakening of the cables over time. In addition, the magnetic DC helps guide the plug into the system for a quick and secure connection.
  • When the connection is secure, an LED located at the head of the DC connector lights up; an amber light lets you know that your notebook is charging, while a green light tells you that you have a full charge. An AC cord is provided with the adapter for maximum cord length, while the AC wall adapter (also provided) gives you an even easier and more compact way to travel.
  • Designed to be the perfect traveling companion, the adapter has a clever design which allows the DC cable to be wound neatly around itself for easy cable storage.
  • Compatible with MacBook Pro with 13-inch Retina display (Late 2012-2015).

  • Apple Quality for Apple Price
I bought this cord by Apple because I wanted a sure thing. I browsed through the no-name, universal plugs and was disheartened by the negative reviews. I also didn't want to get a non-Apple cord that could possibly damage my computer. This cord was definitely not cheap and as my computer is old and needs to be replaced soon, you might argue that I wasted my money. But my computer has a lot of important stuff on it and I just couldn't risk it. When I received the cord in its pristine Apple box and wrapping, perfectly packed... and then it snapped into my computer perfectly, I knew I'd made the right choice. The cord is long and spotlessly white. My computer has had no issues charging since I've been using it. I paid for exactly what I wanted, Apple quality. ... show more

  • For those who own Macbooks earlier than 2009 don't get this/won't fit!
Life is pretty depressing with the entire failure of Apple making and having chargers for all of the Macbooks for over the years. I bought a Macbook because they are tough, well made items. But the chargers WERE NOT AND ARE NOT. There is a sea of research Mac owners have to go through to find the right charger and only Apple approved to use. So I have in all desperation bought knock off chargers that are not and were not approved for use. So if I wanted my Macbook to work I had to buy a un-approved, non Apple product. But again I am having to buy another charger. And so I tried this one as it was the oldest Apple approved charger. But it wasn't old enough. I got them fast. (I buy 2 at a time when I find them because I know that the charger will not work soon enough). I was told by Apple that they did not have any charger for my Macbook but I could call around to see if any Apple store or Mac repair person had any in their stock/back rooms. Oh joy. NOT! So I didn't run down that rabbit hole. I bought these instead and in no way shape or form did these work. Wrong size 2 Safe Mag magnetic head for a late 2008. Packed the one I opened back up and sent back to Amazon via UPS. Was told no shipping label was needed. The UPS trucker was going to make the label out in his truck. Hope that happens. Got my return confirmation number written on the return package. Hope this all works out. But again: Shame on you Apple for not engineering, manufacturing and selling ALL chargers for ALL of your products. If you think that by now my 2008 Macbook doesn't work ... and I haven't traded up for a newer one as it seems your business plan is to target that particular buying power and pool ... you are dead wrong. I bought Apple because the products are work dogs and work forever. You should ask me how old my WORKING G5 is? I bought it in 2003! Well if I were to replace it now, I would have to have $65,000 to spare. Damn. What the hell? Nothing works without power Apple! Not one damn thing, no matter how awesome the products are and when they were created and sold. Guess it's time to go back to some knock off and pray it works. ... show more

  • Hot Hot Hot
It's fine, it charges my computer, but it gets so hot - like dangerously hot. I know this is a common problem - but it's necessary to keep an eye on this charger to avoid disaster.

  • Looks like a knockoff
I've been buying Apple products since 1991, so I know how they package stuff, and I know the materials used in packaging. This does not look authentic: The box is cardboard, not poly-coated like all other Apple products The shrink wrap is not the same as Apple products The typeset and designs on the box are 'off', sized, and placed slightly different than other Apple products. Apple has a styleguide, and they never stray. This doesn't look like it came from an Apple source. ... show more

  • Magsafe is missed
Well, it's a magsafe 2 charger. If you're here, you need an extra or a replacement :) While standardizing on USB-C was the sensible move by Apple, it was still a shame to lose these magsafe connectors. I am knocking a star off for durability though. The cord that goes from the brick to the laptop has always been a bit fragile. The one I replaced had about 10 breaks in it. I've seen plenty in equal or worse condition. But as long as you don't beat it up, it should last a few years. If it's not moved around a lot, longer. I've never had or seen the charger itself break, just the cable. I purchased this "sold by amazon" and it is genuine. I avoid 3rd party sellers when I need to have an authentic product. Really though, this is only limited to certain electronic items where fake products can be common. I have no fundamental problem with buying from 3rd parties here, it's just that in situations where I need to trust the entire supply chain, I make sure it comes from amazon. ... show more

  • This is an excellent Apple Cord!
This cord worked perfectly for our 2014 and 2015 MagSafe inputs on our 2 Macbook Pros. It also comes with a compatible extention cord in case you want to increase the length of the cord going to your Mac.
