I purposely got the 9th iPad because I wanted to reuse my case and my cords from my 8, which I accidentally broke earlier this month. Also because I prefer the 10.2” size that just fits in my purse, a larger model would not fit. I did choose a year newer model so I would have longer support/updates from Apple than would for my 8. Note: I do not use the iPad for any special graphics or special programs so it meets my needs. The iPad arrived as promised.

Bought this as a gift for my wife. The Good She loves it. Has all the bells and whistles. It looks good I have to admit. The Bad By the time you read this review a newer better version will be out. You can never keep up with evolving technology. Once you go Apple you can never go back. [FYI I hate apple products, so I am biased. ] The Ugly I believe this does not have the 3.5 mm headphone jack [The removal of this is absolutely terrible] My wife doesn't care but as a tech nerd myself it pains me to see that happen. There was nothing wrong with leaving a head phone jack, but then again I am old school and prefer hard wired head phones.

I bought two of the Apple iPad (9th Generation) tablets for my younger kids, and they’ve both been fantastic. The performance is smooth and reliable thanks to the A13 Bionic chip, and the 10.2-inch Retina display is crisp and bright — perfect for schoolwork, games, and videos. I love that they have Touch ID for security, and the front camera is great for video calls with family. The battery life easily lasts all day, and they’ve held up well so far. I bought this as it was being phased out for the newer model and was debating between this and an iPad Pro, since I was replacing an outdated version of the Pro. Got this - it does everything we need it to do and also like the fact it uses the first generation Apple Pencil, which we already had, as well as the older charging port so we can use all of our old charging cords for this. Another perk of this older model is that it has the headphone jack - that is huge for us as we don't use wireless earbuds. Charges up faster than my old one - holds a charge very well. These things are more durable than one would expect, but we have been through 3 since kids were little and never a single scratch without ever using a screen protector! The iPad we replaced with this one was from 2016 and since they are supported for about 7 years we will get a good 4 years out of this one from when we purchased it. I got an incredible deal on Black Friday that made it impossible to pass up. Very glad I didn't get a newer model and then have to buy all the new blocks and cables...which also helps keep everyone else from steal my charging stuff since I use the newer USB-C cords! It's all about strategy!
