I ordered these because my favorite Free Soldier boots are out of production and FS current boots are at least a full size too large and the construction quality had dropped significantly. These were the closest I could find to my okd standys and I heeded the majority of reviews pertaining to sizing and ordered 9.5 (my size since I was 17 has been 10). The fit is perfect (they do NOT need room for heavy socks, as they are NOT winter boots). The construction seems rock solid and they are feather light and grippy and no hot spots. Breaking them in should be painless. I'll updated as to durability once I've had them in the woods a few dozen miles, but at first glance, these boots are excellent.

Photo is to highlight how the heel works with the nylon upper. No ankle bite! Plenty of freedom for movement. These boots feel really nice in the hand, and on the foot. These are COMFY! The only gripe I have is they obviously skimped on the quality of rubber on the outsole, so I cannot say for sure how well these will work in the field. As far as the sizing goes, I am a size 10, ordered a 10, and these give me plenty of wiggle room for my toes, aiding in circulation and venting. Also gives me the ability to wear warmer/thicker socks if need be. All in all, quite surprised by the quality for price. Only time will tell if they will last. I bought these for Spring Turkey hunting, but I may even use them in the Fall when the weather is still warm. Really love that there is also a spandex type fabric right on the back above the heel, gives the laced area some stretch!

I'm size US 9.5. The fit is like a 10 wide. I could wear thicker socks but this is a summer boot, very thin construction. Because of the thin construction there is no real ankle support so serious hikers beware. For light hiking trails it should be ok. I'm returning the boots mainly because of the sizing issue, but also because I'm very active outdoors and I'm afraid that the thin construction won't hold up. To be fair, I haven't tested the durability and am basing my comment on product feel and customer photos and comment.

I like how light they are though they are a bit of a tight fit when trying to put them on. Once your feet are in they’re fined. They just don’t have the typical shoe tongue.
