  • Pros and Cons of this mirror (With Update) and why I give it 5 stars
Size: 60x28
Update: Shortly after writing my initial review the company asked what they can do to make it better or more what can they do to make me happy with the purchase. The short answer is nothing, I'm not going to remove the old mirror to put up a new one because it was a pain in the rear end to mount (not because of the mirror or mounting hardware but because my wall was not straight and bowed in 1/2" in the middle. I told them it wasn't a viable option to send out a replacement because the heater wasn't working as it should, or at all on my mirror, but I could live with it if it means I don't have to mess with it again by myself (I wouldn't have a helper this time). What it boils down to, and why I gave this a 5 star rating, is this company reached out to me and was willing to do just about anything to make me happy with the purchase to include sending out a replacement mirror because the defogger wasn't working. You don't always see that type of customer service with companies anymore but when you do find it, you tend to stick with the company in the future. I will DEFINITELY purchase another mirror from them when I renovate my other bathrooms. Original Review (3 stars): So you're looking at this mirror because it has built in lighting and heat, am I right? I'll tell you my experience about this product and what you can expect. First thing's first... I absolutely hate it when manufacturers and sellers over promise their products to make it look "better than the competition" and then under deliver, it's just bad marketing. Pros: Quality of the Glass - Unlike other people who have purchased this type of mirror, I received mine with no defects in the mirror making the reflection distorted. the glass and reflection were amazing. Built in lighting - The lighting does the job, it is color changing as stated in the description & bright enough to see at night. Dimmable to adjust to your liking. Built in heater - Defogs the mirror... sort of. Mounting - The manufacturer gives you a "Z" bracket (meaning the top sticks out just a touch for the mirror to drop onto). I would HIGHLY recommend opening the wall and putting a support beam in place between the studs. Additionally, make sure your walls are not bowed. I ran into this problem when I was installing mine and the center of the mirror had a 1/2" gap between the mirror and the wall where the edges were flat against the wall, one of the brackets was not perfectly straight and I was not able to drop the mirror on it properly almost dropping my mirror on the floor so I had to use shims to make it work. I would have preferred a much different style of mounting (such as setting it on screws in a keyhole shaped insert or just screw holes to mount to so it can't be knocked off and fall). Overall, mounting was not difficult but it isn't the most secure mounting system. I know what you're thinking... "Well, if it does exactly what it says it's supposed to do, why are you only giving it 3 stars" Cons: These have more to do with over promising and under delivering this product... Light - More specifically, the light output. The manufacturer (or seller, only labeled as "Amazon Customer") advertises this as 15 lumens per LED and a 48x32 mirror is outputting 9074 lumens. The mirror I purchased is 60x28 and is NOWHERE NEAR 9k lumens. I have a 16' LED strip I was going to mount outside in the driveway that is 4k lumens and is brighter than this mirror. Yes, I understand this mirror is only 14' total diameter but it's actually more than that, there are 5ft top/bottom, just over 2ft on the sides (we'll say 2ft) and you have to account for the total on the front and back of the mirror... closer to 26 - 28ft of LEDs total. Unless, of course, they combined the LEDs on the front and back of the mirror in which case it is way less than advertised. An 8k lumen mirror would have to be dimmed for most people, I have mine set to max brightness with no problems. According to their calculations, this mirror has a total count of 192 LEDs per meter, we'll say this mirror has roughly 4 meters of LEDs (top, bottom, and sides) (4 * 192 = 768) so we're looking at roughly 768 LEDs total, each with a light output of 15 lumens (768 * 15 = 11,520) so I should be looking at roughly 11,520 lumens of light output. This should absolutely blind everyone that looks at the mirror. My 2200 lumen flash light is brighter when aimed at the ceiling and reflecting to the bathroom. Finally for the light, the seller makes it seem like you can turn the front and back lighting off individually, this is not possible, I have tried every combination of buttons on the mirror to make only the back or only the front turn on and I cannot do it. Built in Heater - There is a pad on the back side of the mirror that appears to be a heating strip. Well, when the heater is turned on, it either cannot heat up enough to defog the mirror or it is not an actual heating pad or it is a heating pad but not connected to power. The total combined area of "defogging" is 6" x 6" in the center where the controls are. Do I recommend this product? Possibly... at this price ($479), probably not. There is a $50 "extra savings coupon" for me at the time of writing this review. So why did I purchase this one when there were other possibilities out there? Next day shipping. I needed a mirror quickly and most others were either a week wait or longer. I was doing a bathroom renovation and the contractor could not continue until I had a mirror there to setup (since we were replacing the light bar in the bathroom) and determine where the power wire was going to be moved to. ... show more

  • Easy to install, looks great, plugs right in
Size: 20x28
Pros: Easy to hang Looks great Light adjustable in three different colors Cons: Hardwiring will/may require an electrician. No notches in back of mirror to route the cord through. So I purchased this thinking I could hardwire it, but the cord that comes with the unit is plenty long enough and does reach the normal outlet in the bathroom just fine. Strap it up with some wire straps and you are set. Installing: Basically, take the the mirror out of the box. The only thing I needed was the mounting plates that is in small box. I would not recommend using the anchors that they come with, I would only use 50lb rated drywall anchors if no stud is present in one of the areas. Here is the link if you don't know what they look like. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FCZ8I3I/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?_encoding=UTF8&aaxitk=1f56d57a0bcb553625e53e44c1ff5350&content-id=amzn1.sym.cd95889f-432f-43a7-8ec8-833616493f4a%3Aamzn1.sym.cd95889f-432f-43a7-8ec8-833616493f4a&hsa_cr_id=0&pd_rd_plhdr=t&pd_rd_r=8928db27-624d-4f3e-b91c-758b3781273d&pd_rd_w=jLQNg&pd_rd_wg=3YEJE&qid=1689970617&ref_=sbx_be_s_sparkle_mcd_asin_1_img&sr=1-2-9e67e56a-6f64-441f-a281-df67fc737124 To continue installation, make sure you place the hangers high enough to set it on and not too wide as to miss the end bracket where the mirror tapers in. You can measure this to be sure. Start with one of the hangers first, find a stud if possible. I usually use the strong magnet type of stud finder, best out there. Once I find the stud and it is in a good position, you then screw the first side of the hanger in, keep it loose in case there isn't a stud on the other side of the hanger. You can then use a level to be sure the hanger is super level, then get a pencil or maker and mark the hanger hold. Now drop down the hanger and place the "Self Drilling" anchor, slide the hanger back up and screw it in. Now to place the 2nd hanger, check for studs then when ready to set the hanger, put a level across the top of the other hanger and this will line it up to be level, mark your holes, place anchors or directly drill into stud(if available). In the end, the installation was good and quick for me. After the first installation I was able to install the 2nd mirror in 15 minutes. I used the supplied cord, which is already attached to the mirror and plugged it in. The only thing that sucks is that there are no notches behind the mirror(that I know of) so you can route the cord through as to make the mirror flush on the wall behind it. Surprising the manufacturer didn't include that, but...oh well. Hope this helps and have fun. ... show more
