  • Great value for casual skaters
Size: 10 Color: White
Look - if you’re planning to be an Olympic figure skater, these probably aren’t for you. But if you are like me and you go ice skating a few times each winter, it’s 100% worth it to invest in your own skates vs continuing to pay for rental skates that have been worn by a million other people. These are great skates for the price. They are comfortable once your break them in and they’re solidly constructed. You will need to get the blades sharpened after the first skate or two - they do come factory sharpened but it’s not great, especially if you are skating on public skating rinks where the ice is chopped up pretty fast. But if you’re not skating a ton, you won’t need them sharpened that often. Overall, would definitely recommend. I’ve had so much more fun bringing my own skates to rinks and it’ll ultimately save me money in rental fees in the end. ... show more

  • Far Exceeded My Expectations
Size: 7 Color: White
I bought these skates after I enrolled my daughters in a recreational ice skating class. They are both beginners and soon advised how much they loathed the free rental skates that came with the class. I also loathed trying to lace the freebies with their variety of lace knots and broken tabs. I wasn't planning on buying them skates until I ran across these AA522 skates on Amazon. $33? are you kidding? I thought to myself. However, the reviews were very positive so I ordered two pairs. One size 7 for my size 6.5 wearing daughter, and one size 8 for my size 7.5 wearing daughter. When the skates arrived I was very pleased to hear both of my daughters agree that the initial fit was very comfortable, and had a little room to spare. Perfect! But how would they be on the ice? Our experienced ice skater friends advised how their rather expensive leather skates would initially put blisters on their kids feet until they were broken in. That in mind, I told the kids that their cheapie skates were likely to give them blisters too, and to be prepared. They have now skated three times on them and couldn't be happier. No blisters, and they are raving about how comfortable they are. Most importantly they immediately skated better! I don't know how long these will last, but they seem to be well made. For $33 I don't expect them to be legacy hand-me-downs! If we get a full season out of them I will feel like we obtained a super bargain. However, I suspect that the girls will grow out of them before they are even close to wearing out. Buy these skates with confidence. I offer my highest recommendation. ... show more

  • good for beginners
Size: 8 Color: White
i’m a very beginner skater (i’ve taken 4-5 lessons maybe?) and they’ve done the job so far. as mentioned earlier i take lessons and my instructor told me they might not be sturdy enough when i improve more. good skates, but probably not ones that you can keep forever! 😁

  • Lace bite a bit
Size: 7 Color: White
Very nice for the price. Rigid and need broken in so lace bite is prominent without thick socks or ankle guard. NEEDS SHARPENED at a pro shop but still usable straight out of box. True to normal shoe size

  • Excellent for casual skaters
Size: 6 Color: White
These skates are great for casual skaters. After 1-2 weeks of wearing them, they mold pretty nicely to your feet. I've gotten so used to them that when I borrowed my friend's skates, it seemed like I had forgotten how to ice skate. -- Haven't tried doing many tricks with them, but they feel quite stable. Not too heavy, and they definitely get more comfortable over time. ... show more

  • Good skates for the money
Size: 8 Color: White
The only problem with these skate was the tounge was very stiff and unbendable. They kind of cut into my shin, so I had to unlace them form the top two fasteners. I'm hoping they will soften up over time. They did well on the ice and for the amount of money I think they're a pretty good deal.

  • Between sizes+ thick socks= size up, want tight fit=sz down..
Size: 8 Color: White
I'm us sz 8.5-9, and I ordered 8. I also got very confused with the size as it says us 8(which is smaller than my normal sz) but europe size as 39-40(which should be equivalent to us 9-9.5). For me it worked out, i feel there is barely any room at toe but the size is not as small as hurting me. I tried it at home with my normal socks and it worked which is enough for me - i don't like wearing thick socks. Also I hate when I rent sz 9 skate and my feets move in the shoes, so a bit tight fit worked out well for me. If you are in between size and thick socks fan then go sz up. The shoe feels stiff and you really need to tight the strings to save your ankle. Haven't tried it yet on the ice but I am excited! ... show more

  • Perfect fit for 12yr old + no need to sharpen
Size: 6 Color: White
Based on suggestions from other reviews, I was worried that they weren't ready to use out of the box because they required sharpening. However, when dad asked at skating rink, the girl at the rental counter said that "they are good...Even better than what they have. They only require sharpening if you play hockey or are a figure skater." That was enough proof for me. My 12yr old daughter totally loves them! ... show more
