My 7 y/o wore these to school once and when she came home the grey leather material on the toe of the boot was completely scuffed off. The boots weren’t dirty or damaged in any other way, so I believe her when she says she wasn’t doing anything too reckless at recess. They are basically ruined after one day of moderate use. I'm going to be honest: my kids both have ADHD, and shoelaces are an issue for us. These fantastic ankle boots circumvent that whole issue by being incredibly easy to put on via the side zipper. Seriously, I never would have considered these otherwise for my 10 yo daughter! These boots are super-cute. They are also very rugged, with combat-boot-style soles (not steel-toed, obviously). That rough edge is softened by the pretty dark taupe color. Stitching is done in a slightly lighter color, giving it nice detail. My daughter loves them so much that she's determined to wear them to school already, despite the fact that we're having a ridiculous heat wave here in Louisiana. I'm not sure what the price is/will be (not currently available), but as this is an Amazon Essentials boot, I'm sure it will be reasonable. My daughter is a huge fan! ... show more

These boots are great! They're going to be perfect for this fall, winter and spring. I am incredibly impressed with these boots. The top material is nice and thick, and feels like really high quality. My son say the boots are really comfortable too. The boots are flexible and the bottoms seem to have plenty of grip. That's important to me too, because he has severe ADHD and runs and runs. He footwear needs to be sturdy and safe. He really puts his shoes to the test! So I'll be back to update my review if we have any problems and these don't hold up. But so far, they feel really well made. The color is great for hiding dirt and the fit is perfect!
