  • A beautiful, firm yet comfortable sofa at a reasonable price.
I do not think there are many sofas that can compete with this one at this price range. Certainly none with down* cushions. It is, ergonomically, very suitable to sitting unlike the Lauren from Stone and Beam, another Amazon brand, which seemed to encourage slumping. I ordered both, and returned the Lauren because I thought this was a better deal. The Lauren did certainly have much more padding on the cushions, but this along with the lower sit height made it very difficult to actually sit upright on the couch. As well, the arm rests were too high to comfortably rest an elbow on, almost like a Camaro's window sill. Notably, the bottom cushions on the Rivet Brooker do have a high density foam layer underneath the down/feathers. I see this mostly as a cost cutting measure, but I do concede also that it may have been difficult to get a firm cushion that supports a sitting body with a fully down filled cushion. I will repeat the firm part of that. It is a firm couch. I rather like that feature though. As someone who is tired of sinking into cheap couches and my legs going numb from resting on the frame, I will take a firm couch any day of the week. The fabric is quite rough, but it has softened to the touch significantly after several weeks of use. The covers for the cushions (not the frame) are removable, by the way, but the bottom cushion's buttons are sewn through the cushion and tied around a piece of plastic on the bottom. If you want to pull them off, you'd have to untie that, which is annoying. But you could probably soften up the fabric with a wash cycle with a lot of agitation, if the fabric is too rough for you and you don't want to wait for it to soften on its own. For me, I'm just happy it will be durable enough to stand up to my toddler and cat. Installation of the legs is easy, but I would recommend using a power tool or at least a socket driver with an extension, because these screws are long and annoying to install with the hex key that is supplied. The legs and supplied hardware are hidden in a zippered compartment on the bottom of the couch, which also seems like a great place to hide contraband. I did have one corner that had two holes drilled about 1/4" off from where they should've been, but I was still able to screw that one in by starting each screw while the leg was as far away as possible and slowly tightening each screw in a circular pattern until the leg was firmly attached and flush. The center support is simply hand tightened with a single bolt. The legs are very pretty, solid wood, with pre-installed non-marking caps installed on the bottom. Once installed, the couch feels very solid and sturdy. Final point of comparison between the Lauren and the Brooker is that the Brooker is much more space efficient, with thinner arms, and also about 7" shallower. My wife, 5'4", could not comfortably lay with her back against the rear cushion on the Lauren because the couch was so deep front to back. No such problem in the Brooker, and it takes up much less of our living room as well. Notably, the Brooker also benefits from being higher off the ground, so it is definitely possible to get some thin plastic totes that are sold for underbed storage and use them underneath this sofa. If you are someone who loves to sink into your couch, this is not for you. Get the Lauren. If you like the idea of a couch that is comfortable to sit and have conversations on, looks good in your living room, will last for the foreseeable future, and is a great deal, get this one. I would suggest using a price tracker to purchase this though, as it has some wild fluctuations in price, and Amazon will NOT adjust your price post-purchase without you actually returning the couch and ordering a new one. Looking at the price history, if you purchase at a high point, you can easily spend almost twice the price compared to waiting a few weeks for the price to drop. I do wish that Amazon would stop this practice of constantly manipulating prices, but since my review is for this product and not Amazon, 5 stars it is. ... show more

  • Works for us for now.
I’d really give it a 3.5. This review is for the grey color. We’ve has this couch for 4 months now, it’s starting to show a little wear. I’ve noticed the seats are starting to pill slightly but because of the gradation of the material you can’t really tell. Occasionally we get poked by the feathers. The seat cushions can slide out a bit but luckily there’s Velcro to help keep them in place, we have to adjust them maybe twice a month. The cushions have broken in and it’s still on the firmer side which is nice. Both me (5’5”) and my boyfriend (6’3”) have fallen asleep on it. It gets a 5 on aesthetics, we love the way it looks in our apartment. This is not a forever couch but I think it will last three or four years before running into any major issues. ... show more

  • SO Comfortable, Amazing Style, Watch the Price
This couch is incredible! So comfortable, perfect size, and it doesn’t sacrifice any of that for style. I love love love it. The marble works so well with any other color (we have it right across from a navy blue couch). It was super easy to assemble, just the legs to screw on. We got this sofa for around $470. The price fluctuations are INSANE; immediately after we ordered it went up to like $970 and changed daily. Be patient and you could get it for a really amazing deal. It’s easily worth $900, but you could pay a lot less! ... show more

  • Nice but overpriced
The couch was very nicely packaged and easy to assemble. I unpacked it and put it together all myself. It is exactly as described and very sturdy. It is a nice looking piece as well. It is not the most comfortable piece of furniture I have rested my behind on, but it will do. I do think it is a little over priced and a similar piece can be found on wayfair or other websites for slightly less. ... show more
