Fit is great (44/10.5 us), knowing espadrilles can be here there and everywhere. The fabric was surprising, kind-of plastic-y, like what they make cheaper tote bags out of, but thicker. For decades, espadrilles have been popular summer shoes in Europe, especially France. They are lightweight, comfortable, inexpensive, and safer than open-toe sandals, which can snag on the edge of stair steps, and cause falls and injuries. These improve upon the traditional design by adding a layer of rubber to the soles, which, traditionally, were made solely of coiled ropes. I read some complaints about these falling apart but I assume that's from people who have never owned espadrilles before. these aren't made for running a marathon and regardless of the brand they dont last long if they have a twine soles. and no espadrilles should ever get wet the soles absorb water and begin to swell. and yes they typical run very tight as they have a tendency of stretching out, but I always followed the rule of any slip on and buy it a 1/2 size larger. fit perfect and look great. remember these were peasant shoes before they became a trend. ... show more
