  • As Awesome as Lone Peak 6
Size: 10 Color: Tan
For starters, I want to say I absolutely loved my ALTRA lone peak 6s. I have fairly flat and wide feet due to running around barefoot as a kid (it was the 90s and outside was the place to be) and the arch support and wide toe box were perfect. Before buying them, I was wearing Hoka Cliftons which resulted in a very painful tailor's bunion. So I switched to the 6 and have never had any issues with my feet. Fast forward 2 years after hiking miles and miles through the TN mountains and loving them so much that I wore them everyday, I decided it was time for another pair. Saying that, they held up beautifully, I just wore the padding inside down. When I looked up the 6s again, I found they had went up majorly in price or were out of stock since they were the older "model". I tried to venture out to other brands, and every time I tried a pair, I was disappointed---none of them were as comfortable. It was also incredibly hard to part ways with these shoes (dramatic, I know). I decided to stop being stubborn and order the newer model, these, the 7s. I went back and forth for awhile because of the reviews and I couldn't decide on a color. I wasn't a fan of any of the colors but I ultimately went with the tan and light blue ones, they are pretty. Upon receiving the shoes and trying them on, I was ecstatic. They felt as comfortable as the 6s that I cherished. Those of you who are hikers know how important finding a pair of supportive shoes is and these are it! I still wear my 6s for nostalgic purposes and because the navy goes better with some clothes. Needless to say, I love the shoes. My only issue would be the colors, I would have liked a solid color or different shades of the same color on the shoe. However, this isn't a big deal and definitely not worth knocking off any stars since they will eventually because covered in dirt. 10/10 would recommend. ... show more

  • Have NEVER been crazier for a shoe before!
Size: 8.5 Color: Dark Purple
These are my third try at an foot shaped shoe... I absolutely LOVE them! My first pair of wide toe shoes had me hooked on the idea. Unfortunately they didn't last long. They began falling apart after a few months :( The toe box was just wide enough to where my little toes weren't crammed, but i still loved them more than any other shoe I tried before... These Altra Lone Peaks are SO MUCH BETTER. The toe box is much wider than my last brand. They're super comfortable. No breaking in needed. They have the perfect amount of support and hold my heel in nicely. I love how they feel when going a couple of miles of the trails. Great grip, no rubbing, decently breathable, and my toes have room roam lol. I'm an 8.5 and the 8.5 fit perfect. I have a pretty narrow heel and a much wider toe area. After 32 years of wearing the wrong kind of shoe my little toes had become very curved and smooshed into the next toe. I've noticed my next smallest toe has started becoming more bent and that's when I realized I NEEDED something else. Instead of just settling for whatever was "OK". Thankfully these were on sale but unfortunately... I'm HOOKED! I certainly recommend and will most definitely buy again. Thank you Altra for making a shoe for us wide toed and narrow heeled ladies :) ... show more

  • Light texture and nice movement.
Size: 9.5 Color: Light Gray
I have just ordered and received these. My first workout wearing of them was today. I was impressed with the breathability of the light material. There’s a lot of room inside these ones. (I went 1/2-1 size up.) The flexibility of the sole is notable, as well as the support and nice traction!! Update: I returned from using these for over 9 miles today. The underfoot consistency was anything from wooded trail to pavement as well as rocks and dirt. The traction really stood the test. The extra space inside the shoe however proved troublesome as I had to avoid extra movement and sliding. In turn I have gotten some blisters from this. Though I have a predominantly narrower foot, I was recommended a wider toe box for nail concerns. The wider toe box has assisted in better toe health though I will most likely stick with my normal shoe size on this brand. I still can’t say enough good about the airy feel of the shoe’s upper. ... show more

  • Very roomy fit
Size: 9 Wide Color: Tan
My feet are normally too wide for regular width shoes. These wides are too wide for my feet. I am going to try a regular size next. My heel and mid foot have too much lateral movement for them to be called supportive, and it feel like it affects my stability. They are VERY comfortable, however.

  • Foot bliss
Size: 7.5 Wide Color: Tan
I can’t begin to say how much I love these shoes. Firstly, I had about a 70% reduction in back and hip pain when I started hiking in these. My feet are wide, so my options were limited. I have Merrill Moab, and Columbia hiking shoes because they both sell wide width. I didn’t realize the pain in my back and hips were from my shoes. I think because of the high arch support. So these being pretty flat are a dream come true. I bought the wide, but honestly I think I could have gotten by with the regular 7.5 because the toe box is so wide. But I love it because now I can wear thicker socks if I need to. Also the traction is tippy top notch. No more falling on my butt. Next I’m buying barefoot shoes or sandals to see if it resolves the rest of my pain. My only complaint is the ugly colors, but they’re worth it, but them! ... show more

  • I'm a big fan of Lone Peaks
Size: 9 Color: Orange
I have been wearing Altra Lone Peaks since they first appeared on the shelf. They have a nice wide toe box to allow your foot to spread to a more natural position. They have good arch and ankle support and are soft and comfortable providing more cushion than a barefoot shoe. I had a foot surgery several years back due to a bunion and this was the only shoe that was comfortable after surgery. Great to wear after surgery, but also great to wear if you are trying to avoid surgery, as they reduce pressure and overall irritation compared with an average toe box. I personally like to go a 1/2 size up in these shoes. I wear 8.5 in other shoes and a 9 in my Lone Peaks. If you have never worn a shoe with a wider toe box, they will feel big at first, but you will soon learn to really like the extra space. Very versatile shoe. I wear mine for everyday shoes, for hiking, for work etc. ... show more
