I was on the fence about these because the toe does look a little weird. The shoe is very comfortable though. I used the for walking trails and climbing rocks this summer (not actual rock climbing). If you have problems with or pain in your feet and/or legs, this shoe will keep you comfortable, mobile, and facilitate exercise. Typically marketed as a running shoe, it should also be marketed for older people or any people who struggle with pain in their feet. They run a bit tight across the top (if you have foot problems) so recommend that you buy a 1/2 size larger.

The fit is great and the wide toe box is perfect. It’s a shame more hiking shoes and boots don’t provide more room in the toe box. These were recommended to me by another hiker and she was spot on. Definitely would buy again.

These shoes fit, mostly. Super tight across my instep, I should have listened to others reviews of this brand. Nice shoe, wonderful trail tread, lovely color pairing. I ended up returning them because of the instep tightness. If you have a narrow foot, this will fit fine

I am devoted (& indebted) to Altra running/trail shoes since 2019 when I bought the Lone Peak 4’s. Those wide toe bed trail shoes saved my feet and saved me from having foot surgery for a VERY painful Morton’s Neuroma (along with OOFA Slippers & Hokas for walks I was able to cancel surgery) . My Altra 4’s are still in pretty decent shape but I’m preparing for a major hiking backpacking trip & wanted to train in new Altra’s. I loved the color of these 7’s (red-orange) but the fit was VERY tight over the top of my foot. You could visibly see the indentations of my toes pressed against the fabric. To the degree that it hurt within one minute. OUCH. I measured the top width of shoe from side to side against my 4’s & it was 1/2 “ narrower. Thank goodness I also ordered the ALTRA Women's AL0A548E Lone Peak 6 Trail Running Shoe & they fit EXACTLY LIKE MY 4’s!! YAY! 🎉 So for me the Lonepeak 6 is a true winner. Might even order another pair IF Altra would make them in a red-orange color.
