I’ve worn Altra Torins for a few years now and really like them. They are comfortable, have great support, and the toe room is wonderful following the natural line of your foot. Highly recommend especially for those having a hard time finding a comfortable shoe for being active.

I’m a runner and I love Altra shoes because they have a comfy toe box. Lots of cushioning, good arch support, and a perfect fit for my foot shape. Went on my first run this morning and they were great right out of the box. No need to break them in. The cushioning is important because I run on pavement. I bought the Torin 7 to compare, but those didn’t have as much cushioning, so I returned them. Highly recommend!

Nicely made though the tongue can be a problem on this version. None such for me. I do use my own insoles that add some drop that I need. Run mostly on dirt, gravel and mud, nice cushioning on harder surfaces. Love the wider toe box. Run in other brands and this is the first Altra in it.

I moved to Altras after my bunion surgery and have generally found the Torin to be a good model for me. I was excited to see the Torin 6 even cheaper than my Torin 5 and jumped on it. Unfortunately, the vamp is smaller and I can't really wear them even with creating lacing. I think they are otherwise similar in fit in quality, but I'm back to my 5's. My one complaint with these shoes is that they don't last me as long as I expect (about 2 mos and I'm not a runner). The Torin 6 also added these rather odd stretchy laces that I think add nothing to the fit, but do make it more likely that you'll overtighten. I'm a 9.5/10W in Sauconys, Brooks, etc but typically a 10.5 in Altras.

I've been wearing barefoot style/zero drop shoes for close to 10 years now, and Altras for 7 of those 10 years. I love the fact that my toes are not squished in these shoes and more importantly, that they have some cushioning in the sole for road walking. I know a lot of people go on and on about ground feel, but when you are walking a cement road for a few miles a day, ground feel if not what I want to feel (and I've tried so many times). These were comfortable out of the box, with no breaking in period, and no problems with the tongue or heel (usually my breaking point with new shoes). I usually wear an 8 in barefoot style shoes, and an 8 in this shoe fit perfectly. This is my first time wearing the Torin style, and I would definitely purchase again. Highly recommended!

I am a postal worker and let me tell you they make my feet happy. The support is great. The tug does not rub on these ones. And the heal feels as it wraps around your foot. I have over 100 shoes and I will tell you these are in the top 10.. Make your feet happy and get yours today.

I bought these in October, and by December the seams on the toe box are starting to fall apart. Looks like the material is melting away from the white bottom, but considering I live in the Midwest it’s not from hot pavement. Wear them almost daily, but I’d hope to get more than a few months wear. Otherwise very comfy and has a super wide toe box.

If you read reviews on Altra shoes lately both on amazon, on their direct website, and many other places, you'll see so many stating the same thing - and I now agree, they have changed their shoes and not for the better. Most of us came to Altra for the natural foot shape, wide toe box, and wide options. Those are key points are completely gone now and now I've had to move on to a different brand as a result. I'm bummed to be honest as Altra was my go to. The toe box was tighter than normal but still better than most brands, however everywhere else was so tight it was ridiculous and I could barely get my foot in the shoe. These are now for people with narrow heels which is not how they used to be. Also the whole back half and heel of the shoe was very stiff it almost felt as if there was a hard plastic shell that wrapped around the heel. The material is now extremely thin with virtually zero lining or padding and the missing lining leads to a host of issues that many other reviews touch on- comfort and ripping. I can see why alot of reviews talk about ripping on the holes/laces and the sole and basically everywhere else as the thin mesh fabric with no lining to help hold it together will just tear through the fabric so easily. So sad to see this company mess with a good thing they had. Try Topo if you're looking for what Altra uses to be.
