Originally, I ordered a pair of these in my usual size, 8.5 women's. The shoes came quickly, but when I tried them on, I found that they were a little too short. My second toes, which are about a quarter of an inch longer than my big toes, were scraping up against the inside of the tip of the shoes. So I returned the 8.5s and ordered 9s, which fit perfectly. The shoes are fabulously comfortable and I'm confident they'll fill the bill for their intended purpose (hiking the Camino del Santiago).

I had two bunion/hammertoe surgeries in five months. These sneakers worked great. The natural shape of the toe box is so awesome, even if you don’t have serious foot issues. I bought one pair and then these. I’m back to walking everyday and these sneakers are the only ones that are comfortable for me. Hopefully in a few months I can get back into running.

I’m a 7.5 in MOST every shoe (Birkenstock=37, Chaco=7, dress shoes/heels= 7.5). I ordered both the 7.5 and 8 because I wanted to be sure I found my correct size. The 7.5, my toes touched the end of the shoe and the 8 are the perfect length. The toe box is so roomy and comfy. Arch support is okay, could be better, but not so bad I wouldn’t purchase again. Best shoe I’ve found that doesn’t scrunch my toes.

So I got the Lone Peak 6 and couldn't be happier! These (to me) fit like a glove. If you are an avid hiker you may want to 1/2 size up for a little extra toe space. Though these are already a wider shoe than most, if you get WIDE regularly, you may want wide on these. I got the 7.5 and not the wide and these are super comfy as is; I haven't tried putting my normal orthotics in these shoes. (I normally wear a size 7 in my orthopedic foot wear but I'm pretty sure they run large so it skews my idea of what size to get.) Hope this helps.

This is my 3rd or 4th pair of Altras and I am in love. I do alternate between these and Hokas for my daily walks. I do about 3 - 4 miles a day in them and they are perfect. I try to grab a pair for the rotation as often as I can. I do have some plantar fasciitis and notice the heel helps greatly in these.

I have small feet so the wider toe box makes me look a little clown-ish but I love these shoes regardless. I havent been able to find a pair of hiking boots that dont give me blisters and these are the perfect alternative. Super comfy and no breaking-in period. Buy them you wont be disappointed!

Really love these Altras. I got them for winter running in Chicago and I’ve used them a little bit on trails. They hold up to winter weather great. Toe box is wide but the heel is not, unlike some of the other Altras I’ve worn. Just for reference my other favorite Altras are the Escalantes, Torin 4.5, and I’ve been wearing the Via Olympus but I’m not a fan of the height of the Via as it makes it feel like I can easily loose my footing. These give you a great grip.

They’re not the cutest shoes but certainly did the trick as far as fit! I have wide feet as well as issues with numbness in a couple of my toes. Took a short hike in them and they worked well. I will be ordering a taller hiker Alta for more extensive hikes as the fit was great in these shoes.
