I recently purchased the ALTRA Men's AL0A7R6M Escalante 3 Road Running Shoe in orange and I'm very impressed with the performance of these shoes. The shoes have a modern and stylish design with a comfortable fit. The shoe is lightweight, making it perfect for long distance runs, and the cushioning provides great support to the feet, making it comfortable for extended use. The shoe is also breathable, allowing my feet to stay cool and dry even during intense workouts. Be aware though, since they are zero-drop, your ankles might initially get a bit sore, but after a few runs this went away! One of the unique features of this shoe is the FootShape toe box, which allows the toes to relax and spread out naturally, improving balance and stability. This feature has really helped me maintain my form during runs and reduced the risk of injuries. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase of the ALTRA Men's AL0A7R6M Escalante 3 Road Running Shoe. I bought these for the gym and for walking and I couldn’t be happier! For a small cushioned bottom the feel is still squishy but stable. The zero drop is ideal for squats and deadlifts. The wide toe box provides amazing stability, like being barefoot. To boot, they also look very good as kicks. Note Altra does not ship to Canada but this Amazon purchase was only a few dollars more and a $17 duty. You can buy Altra in multiple Canadian retailers but the selection is limited. Will buy again!

This is my husband’s third pair of this brand. He loves the wide toe box and the comfort. He has a more expensive pair of hiking shoes but I notice that unless we are going on a challenging hike, this is his go to.

These are extraordinarily comfortable shoes! The toe box is a little wider, allowing your toes to spread out naturally. The heel is a low rise. These features allow your feet not to have uncomfortable pressure points and evenly distribute your weight as you walk. They’re not bulky. I wear them when I workout and while I am walking. I have chronic foot pain and these are the best shoes I’ve had to minimize my discomfort issues. They feel different than ordinary walking shoes. I highly recommend them!

I’m a big advocate for a mid foot to forefoot strike. The efficiency you gain from running in these shoes are amazing! I am an advanced runner who ran Div. 1 cross country and track and I wanted to test a zero drop shoe because my hips and knees were starting to wear. It takes a few weeks to get used to if you heel strike some but once you harden you calves and ankles these shoes will make a world of difference. I would recommend cycling your shoes every other day with the shoes you currently own to help aid in the transitioning process initially.

These shoes have an extra wide toe box to let your toes "fan out" with weight bearing. Toe off is pain free when it used to cause moderate pain for years. If your toes feel tight they need a wider toe box. Have purchased 5 pair and wear no other shoe. Highly recommend.

I’ve been a loyal Altra customer for the last 4-5 years. They made me a stronger runner and I think my feet are healthier for using them. I wear these during training runs and Vivobarefoot during my normal day-to-day. Both brands complement each other well. My only complaints are that the soles wear faster than other brands in the same price range like Nike and the laces easily untie during a run. They finally fixed the laces with this one. Let’s hope the soles last.
