  • Not for agressive or heavy duty.
Took this up a 14er hike in winter conditions. The plastic ratcheting front and mid straps (across the feet) would at times come loose with use and I would occasionally have to stop and re-tighten. I even pull the locking tabs up to make sure it stays but that often fails over time and the straps works itself loose. I feel that a better securing system than a zip-tie type of locking system would have been better. The second issue I have with these are the traction spikes underneath. Mine have bent more or less flat due to the occasional rocks that I have stepped on between ice/snow patches. I will have to try and bend them to its original position. The traction on these snowshoes are not aggressive enough for very inclined hiking in snow/ice as I have occasionally slid/lost traction. These snowshoes are good for moderate to light walking in snow. ... show more

I used these snowshoes extensively the first time. At first I didn't like them, because my heel kept slipping to the side, and large balls of snow collected under the front grips.....but later I moved my boots farther to the front, and they worked much better.

  • Not to Happy with Function
I am within the weight range for these but they don't work as well as the youth ones of another brand I ended up getting for my daughter. We switched. Since she is lighter then me; they worked ok for her. They tend to sink into the snow instead of stay on top, even for my light weight daughter. I tried them in various conditions, and ended up just missing the return date on these, or I would have returned them. Also the easy on/off bindings are not very easy. Would not buy these again. ... show more

  • Strap put together backwards. Easy fix, but still.
I haven't used these enough to rate the overall quality. But quality control at the manufacturer leaves some to be desired. One of the straps that goes across the top of the foot was installed upside down. It wasn't too big of a deal to drill out the rivet and replace it with a small flat head bolt and lock nut, but I shouldn't have had to deal with it. It was easier to fix it myself than to deal with shipping them back and rolling the dice again. Hopefully the rest of the snowshoes holds up well. ... show more

  • Wide & Awkward
Color: Black Size: 25-Inch
I bought these last year and have used them 3 times. The first time, snow clumped up underneath and caused me to walk with an awkward motion, also causing foot pain. The second time they were okay. I used them again today & experienced more trouble. They are wider & longer than other snowshoes, so the path I was on, was harder to manuever when the path was narrow. Also not good in slushy snow. I had my feet strapped in securly, but during the hike the straps came loose. This caused the shoe to fall off & I feel as well. I'm looking forward to getting new ones soon. ... show more

  • Functional but NOISY
The ratchet strap design is very nice, and makes putting shoes on and getting them off as well as adjusting tightness to your boot a snap. The downside of these shoes is that they are NOISY. Think about a horse wearing tambourines on it's feet, and you'll get the idea. The noise takes a lot of the peaceful joy of taking a quiet walk in the woods away. When my wife and I walk together, we get looks from other walkers 50 to 100 feet away. They do the job and are reasonably priced, but the sound effects were bad enough that I bought another set from a different manufacturer and have left these for guests who arrive without their equipment. ... show more

  • Get what you pay for.
Color: Black Size: 25-Inch
First time out on these, I went off the beaten path on some pretty rugged terrain. I'm 5' 7" and 147 lb. What other reviewers said about the middle strap not being long enough for big feet is true. Not the issue as I'm a size 8 mens. As soon as the snow got deep, the bindings loosened up. The ratchet mechanism didn't work at all and the heel srap kept loosening up on me in the deep snow. I lost one at one time and had to take time to put it back on. If you don't plan on straying from a pre established snowshoe trail, they will work. Deep snow and rugged terrain, keep lookin for a better snowshoe. ... show more

  • Served it's purpose...
Color: Black Size: 25-Inch
Wanted to make sure I could get out and enjoy winter as we all continue to be stuck inside. The snowshoes served their purpose at the price I paid for them. I would say the 2 things I was a little disappointed/annoyed with are related to 1. The buckles don't release easily so a little frustrating trying to remove and 2. As they are 'cheaper' the plastic makes a rather annoying sound if you are not walking on fresh snow. ... show more
