  • Great investment!
With living in the UP of Michigan, we had quite a bit of snow this winter. We finally found a house to settle into and since it has acreage with it, when we would go on walks it would get to be a bit much to be on top of the snow one minute and fall through to my knees the next (without any snow shoes!). I finally decided to buy a pair and spent quite a bit of time reviewing the different kinds. With this being my first pair, I really didn't want to be disappointed... and really wanted to stay on top of the snow when walking, like people said I would. These are very easy to put on and I am so happy with this purchase! We went for a walk and as I was staying on top of the snow, my boyfriend was falling through the deep snow every other step. The second time I used these while walking, the snow was a bit stickier, so it made it more of a workout with the snow piling up underneath. I was a bit disappointed when the price went down $30 though the next day after I had spent over $70, but these are definitely worth it. If you have never owned a pair of snow shoes, I'd definitely recommend this pair - you won't regret it! ... show more

  • Check sizing
Color: Silver Size: 17"(60-100lbs)
Sizing on posting is VERY different than on packaging. I purchased 17", listed online on as usable for 60-100 lbs, but actual package says for weights UP TO 70 lbs. Otherwise it seems like a quality product, comes with sturdy carrying bag, but there's no easy way to check on sizing as Alps manufacturer website doesn't have sizing info or phone number for checking. Returned as result, so couldn't test with the kids, low rating for sizing, lack of info from manufacturer, and easily preventable hassle. For reference, here is the sizing information on the tag attached to the snowshoes: 14 - up to 60 lbs 17 - up to 70 lbs 19 - up to 90 lbs ... show more

  • Disappointing customer service
This product started out great. I got two pairs. One pair is still going strong. The other one, however, broke after one season of use. It had only been used maybe four or five times. I understand that these are affordable snowshoes and maybe not the best quality. But, the most disappointing thing is the customer service. We reached out immediately to the company after it happened, both here on Amazon and through the company's website/email. We have not heard back from them. It has been a few months of trying to get a hold of them and still nothing. I'm going to try fixing these myself at this point. The product is decent for the price, but proceed with caution. If they break after a few uses, you're pretty much out of luck. UPDATE: The other pair has now broke. Every shoes has ripped and they were hardly used. Awful quality. ... show more

  • Had to return them
Color: Silver Size: 19"(80-120lbs)
The front strap that goes over the toe when inserted seems to only tighten. I am not sure if I inserted the strap correctly or not. After studying them for a while it appears they could slide into the tightening mechanism in two different places. Problem is the instructions that came with the snowshoes were clearly for a different snowshoe the pictures show different kind of straps than the shoes I got. Had to return them since I could not get the strap to loosen or come back out of the locking mechanism. I dont know if I got a defective pair or I did something wrong since no instructions provided. Also the poles provides are way too short for a child appropriate to size 19" shoes. The ones I got look like they would fit a 5 to 7 year old. ... show more

  • Great purchase!
I had only gone snowshoeing once in my life, about 20 years ago, and then went with a girlfriend back in January. We had so much fun, and got such a great workout, I had to get a pair of my own. We had a ton of snow this winter (MN) and I ended up using my snowshoes more than I used my cross country skis. I'm stoked for next winter, hoping we get a good snowpack early so the shoeing is good. As for these particular snowshoes, I used the general guide of weight to determine the length/size of the shoes and I hit it on the mark. The poles are rock star -- super helpful on uneven terrain, and a lifesaver when I went off trail a few times and hit some spots that I sunk into the powdery snow up to and past my waist!! Crazy good times, I highly recommend the brand and style, and the product was an excellent deal for the price, and it all shipped earlier than promised. ... show more

  • So glad I bought these snowshoes!!
Color: Silver Size: 17"(60-100lbs)
I purchased these snowshoes as a Christmas gift. My Grandson is eleven and because he had never tried shoeing before I hesitated to purchase an expensive pair until he knew for sure the sport was one he truly enjoyed. The result is that Grandma is a hero. The shoes are perfect for him, he loves them and can now go anywhere. He lives in an area where there's deep snow all winter and the shoes seem to be just fine for the conditions. They are sturdy enough for a vigorous boy and mom likes they fact that poles and everything fits back into a reasonable sized pouch; easy to locate everything at once. ... show more

  • Watch Size!
Color: Silver Size: 17"(60-100lbs)
We followed the weight guide to determine what size to order. My wife weighs 95lbs. However, when they arrived the poles were so short they were not functional. And she is 5.1. They are really for kids only!

  • No instructions
I purchased this item to navagate around our property in NJ because of the deep snow we have had this past winter. Never having worn snowshoes before, it seemed like a good idea after trying to wade thru it, crotch deep. I never had the opportunity to use them, as the snow froze and I had already made paths thru it by the time the snowshoes arrived. They were delivered in a timely manner and look to be of good quality, however, there were no instructions that came with either the snowshoes or the "shock absorbing" poles. Being brilliant and extreemly mechanically inclined, it only took me 3 1/2 hours to figue out what I needed to know. I now know that I am not brilliant or as mechanically inclined as I thought I was. While both the snowshoes and the poles are pretty simple to figure out there should have been instructions for both, especially the poles, since they are height adjustable, have shock absorption adjustments, have parts that attach and also how they should be used in different types of snow. The snowshoes should have had information on how to make minor adjustments for proper fit. There was nothing and there should have been something. After I get a chance to use them I will probably have more questions. I guess I will have to resort to google and you tube. ... show more
