Easy to install and fits perfectly. As I expected, the sound has improved considerably since I moved the Echo from the kitchen table to the wall (about five feet high). You have the option of mounting upside down if the unit is going to be above eye/ear height, this is what I did since we will usually be sitting at the table, or standing six to eight feet away. I really like the aesthetic, it's up out of the way and it looks and sounds way better. No complaints.

This has the potential to cause a lot of awkward looking Echo placements as it seemingly makes the device float about 4 or 5 inches off the wall and the awkward power cord hangs below. Regardless I needed to free up some space where it was so I decided to give this a shot. To my surprise it didn't look nearly as bad as I was anticipating and while ideally I would have liked to have ran the wire behind the wall time constraints left me using a single cable cord concealer and painting it the same color as the wall. I could probably put some more effort into hiding that a bit as well but thats neither here nor there. Soon I found two advantages of mounting the new Echo this way: 1. It is much easier to appreciate the colors being emitted on the bottom when it is not sitting on a table top. 2. Maybe this is a coincidence but for a while there this device was driving me crazy because it never recognized me talking to it. For all I know Amazon had pushed out a fix right around the time that I mounted it but ever since I did I have had ZERO problems with inconsistent responses. I've included a picture and for the record nothing drives me crazier than the power cord for the TV bias lighting being the only visible cable (USB power on TV not an option).

This was un upgrade from a G2. Nothing has gone right since. Our smart home hub no longer works with Alexa via the device, only the app. Alexa has gone completely insane — she randomly plays music we would never listen to, gives me news from outlets I’d never read in the middle of the night, refuses to play any book in the Audible + library, and has connection issues several times an hour. She also can no longer understand half the things we say, doesn’t hear half our responses. The most common sentence heard in our home is, “Alexa, what are you doing?”, and we’re all sick of screaming at a shopping bot. I liked our gen2 just fine, except for the tinny music. As of now, though, pretty much over Echo and Alexa both. The volume settings are absurd, and you can’t do half settings. We can’t hear it over ambient noise at 3 and at 4 we cover our ears. Manual adjustment is a PITA, and no guarantee the next song won’t be inaudible or blast you out of your chair. Oddly, the thing is also a dust catcher & collector — we live deep in the desert — and I strongly suspect product life will be greatly reduced. Sure, when you can get it to play what you want to hear, the sound quality is greatly superior to the older gens. But at least I could get her to play said music, and do anything else I wanted. It’s the same Alexa, same room, same location, same internet. I don’t know why this is a piece of garbage, but it sure is. Btw, who is the genius who decided that if an Alexa routine included Audible, the Audible had to be the last thing? Their programmers obviously don’t listen to a book and then play sleep music or sounds. I guess the problems with this device is typical of tge Amazon attitude of “we don’t care how yiu want it; you’ll take what we give you and thank us for it.”

Excellent product! The new 4th generation Echo has a bigger footprint so it made sense to us to get her off our kitchen counter. I was especially impressed with this kit the moment I opened it as all the screws are higher quality than what you usually get to install something at home. It was easy to read and understand the directions and they were funny too boot. I still haven't found Phil to give him back his screwdriver. The mounted Echo moves side to side easily and everything feels secure. It also looks neater with the cord wrapped up behind the mount. For us, the Echo mount hit the sweet spot and is just the right addition to our kitchen

Sound is very good. Wall mount is cool. I dont mind the overall design although I do miss the 360 degree sound of the older cylindrical models. Sound is def noticeably better though when you are right in front of the speaker. As others have said though from a distance, presumably because there are less mics, it does NOT pick up the wake word anywhere near as well as the older models. Hoping they fix this in subsequent models this one is kind of a wash.

Neat in that it looks neat, in that it kind of makes Echo appear to float, plus it makes the countertop neater as Echo is now off the countertop. A mounting option: FWIW, I was able to reuse the holes in kitchen tiling where my old wall mounted phone was, so no new holes, plus this covers up the unsightly hole the old phone wires used, and the old phone mount is now gone. Anyway, the construction, aesthetic design, finish, and packaging of the mount is pretty decent, as is the color match to Echo, helping make the non trivial cost seem fair enough.
