I have the Kindle Basic 11th generation. I had the paper white 11th generation but I gave it to my niece because it was hurting my eyesight. It was too bright and a bit hazy - even in dark mode. I did not enjoy the reading experience. I also owned the Libra Colour but returned it. I didn't love it as much as I thought it would. I prefer not using turn page buttons. And it is not up to par with any Kindle, I'm sorry to say. I will not be purchasing the Colorsoft because it's pretty much the same color ink technology as the Kobo. Color is a nice novelty but not a necessity. It's also not necessary to upgrade to the new Kindles. But, oh...what a difference than it's predecessor. The design of the device fees good to hold and is a very cozy experience. The display is a bit larger, the rounded corners are seamless. The screen looks crispier (clearer) but easier on the eyes. It's like you are reading on paper - not a stark white tablet screen. Dark mode is also easier on the eyes. It is also fast! For an e-reader and definitely faster than the previous paperwhite. No other technology can beat reading on a Kindle device. If you are sensitive to blue light or get migraines - this upgrade is worth it. Its an excellent e-reader.

I have been using my Oasis daily for 7.5 years and the battery life is not so good any longer and the famed buttons aren't working so well anymore either! After the release of the new Kindles and the lack of one with the physical page turn buttons I decided to order the new Paperwhite and I LOVE it and encourage other oasis owners to give it a try and get over the buttons! This Paperwhite is crisp, lightweight, and very fast in turning the pages.....I couldn't really ask for more. I never had a glare problem with any of my previous Kindles so I can't speak to that. I would encourage people to use dark mode if they are subject to migraines/headaches....I used to be only able to read for about 20 minutes and then my migraine pain would start but when Amazon came out with dark mode years ago that problem went away completely....it also does away with the screen too yellow problem others talk about, even though you can control that with the warm light slider control. People seem to just nit pick the new Kindles and I just don't share their complaints...I have never had a problem with location of the power button & another user complained that you can't clean the screen of this Paperwhite because it will just turn pages....ridiculous! On the toolbar menu at the top if you tap on the 'more' button there is an option to disable the touchscreen...tap on that and clean away, no problem! I will agree that this non-glare screen seems to show fingerprints more but I always wipe my phone screen off every morning so I just do my new Paperwhite at the same time. I read many hours a day, every day, and have had many kindles since the original in 2007 and in my opinion they just continue to get better. I thought maybe I would miss the page turn buttons, but I do not, not at all! This new Paperwhite turns pages so easily and quickly that I don't miss the buttons....I hold my kindle on the side with one hand (and I have small arthritic hands) and just move my thumb about a quarter inch and tap the side of the screen...it is so easy, quick and automatic that I don't even think about it. I think people just like to complain....I love to read and this Paperwhite gives me a superb reading experience and I highly recommend it.
