I had a heckuva time getting the right dress and the right size when I ordered this Alex Evenings dress. I eventually accepted a petite even though I don't wear a petite (I'm 5' 4") but it fit and looked flattering I love how the bodice is tight and the skirt, loose. The lacy portion has sequins scattered throughout. I also love that I can handwash it, something that will prevent the sequins from coming off as easily. I would describe this dress as midweight. Gorgeous dress but a bit more formal than I needed. Fits beautifully but is a bit on the heavy side since the fabric and embellishments weigh it down. Which works in your favor in fitting. I would recommend it highly but not for hot weather event.

I loved the beautiful blue skirt with the rosette details. The flow of the skirt was nice and I wish I could cut off the top and keep it as a skirt. The waist as others mentioned is high and I wish the top were longer as the dress made me look like I was short waisted and out of proportion. If I decide to keep it, I will have to pin the top as it is low as others have mentioned. The dress is heavy with the design of the skirt and thick fabric on top. For me the skirt was full and the top was snug. I think the dress would work well for a black tie optional or a black tie wedding. The skirt length was right but the torso was too short from shoulder to waist. The waist started just below my breasts and it was not intended to be the umpire-waist style. It made me look like I was choking on the dress or a 5'5' woman trying to fit into a child's dress.
