Alex Evenings dresses are usually a nice fit for me and I bought a size 12 a year ago for my son's wedding. This particular dress (also a 12) is more fitted and not as complimentary and forgiving as my previous purchase. Also, a bit of a gap in the arm holes. The color was pretty much like the picture. This may work well for someone that has a slim figure. I'm 5'7" and weigh 150 lbs.

They did not have it in my size, but I kept hoping my size would become available. Finally I had the idea to go to the actual dress website, and Amazon's dress came up. I ordered many dresses from Amazon for my son's wedding. I found that the Alex Evening fit me well, I was ordering size 16 and 16P if floor length. Other companies didn't seem to have 16P in their dresses. I first ordered this in the rose/pink color in 16 but didn't like color on me. Then I couldn't only get the periwinkle int he 16P but that felt too short. I ended up with a 16 in Periwinkle from Dillards. The dress was very comfortable, I didn't have any issues with the raised fabric irritating my underarm and I received lots of compliments. I am 5'3" and 195lbs.

I have not worn the dress except for trying it on. It will be worn for my daughter’s wedding in a couple of months. The navy blue and style is beautiful. I ordered two sizes—a 14P and 12P. The bust determined my final selection. Both dresses fit but the 14P had a little more room. Returning the other dress was so easy and within 3 days the charge to my credit card was refunded. A totally pleasant experience.
