Hello, I’m his *stepmother*, and besides, there should only be one sexy woman at a wedding! Old-fashioned? Maybe. But the reason I chose this one (and the first one) is that it’s beautiful in an understated way. It isn’t sequined or beaded. The shimmer is woven into the fabric of the bodice and jacket. A nice result is that the fabric isn’t stiff. It flows. I couldn’t tell that from the online photos; I thought the jacket was going to be stiff, but my SIL lobbied hard for it Turns out, she had seen her neighbor in this exact dress, so she knew! I’m so grateful that I took her advice!! I do recommend having it altered to fit your shape best. This was my first experience of having clothing tailored (hemming doesn’t count!), but it won’t be my last! I look forward to my next opportunity to wear this beauty! I love this dress. I'm usually a 14W or a regular 18 (42 inch bust and large hips)- and this dress is amazingly flattering- I bought the 14W! I love the lace sweater- I'll definitely wear it with other things as well- and I found it comfortable. I thought this dress looked much better in person- it looks kind of blocky in the picture, but in person it is very slimming and the satin skirt is elegant. I buy formals for cruises, and I love that this isn't super heavy. Some of my lacy formals are really heavy- which means I can't carry as much other clothing. So I love this. 18W fit me perfectly and hid a big tummy area. (5/7" tall and 200 lbs.) However, the lace was a bit scratchy and fit high on my neck in back & sides. The jacket did not hang well from the shoulders on me. The color is a subdued, somewhat dark "dusty" teal color. I think that was due to the chiffon overskirt.
