Excellent quality & very flattering. I needed a dress for a formal dinner. I bought the black dress it looks plain in the picture, but it’s very sparkly & pretty. I’m 5’5“ the length was perfect with 3“ heels. I weigh around 182 lbs. size 16 was perfect, the dress has a little stretch. I loved this dress, it was so comfortable & I felt great wearing it. This dress is absolutely stunning and extremely comfortable! I am petite 5'1" and was able to wear this with 1 1/4 inch heels without having to hem the dress. I wore it to my nephew's wedding and felt very festive in it, and received compliments. I would have given the dress 5 stars, except the sparkles shed on everything - my chest/arms/face, places I sat, the floor, and unfortunately even clothes and skin of people I hugged! Not a ton of them shed, but enough did to be very noticeable. I would recommend one of the colors which the dress comes in, which does not include the sparkles.

Ordered this for my Mother of the Groom dress after going to a few very upscale places, trying on their dresses that were in the $750 - $2000 range. They were gorgeous gowns but there was no way I was gonna pay that kind of money for a dress I will most likely wear once. (Plus I've got three other boys to marry off.) The reason to go to the fancy places was to see what they knew would look passable on my short 5'0" ft, 152 lb curvy frame. I am not one to get dressy since I've gained weight, so I was really dreading the search for something in my price range. But I did take their advice on looking for something with diagonal ruching across the waist (to give me a more slender look) and a drape that fell straight down one side (to draw the eye up and down like a column.) Well darned if their advice didn't work even on the more reasonably priced dresses! I don't really cotton to dresses with a lot of lace or sequins or other gee-gaws. This looks elegant, not cheap or tacky (though I did make a point of getting the style of this dress with the "illusion drape that has a tiny bit of diamondy beading at one spot on the waist - NOT the one with all of the glitter everywhere.) I've actually ordered 3 different dresses in similar styles from Alex Evenings, all in size 10 or 10P, with the other two having flattering bolero jackets to hide old lady arms. Though the cold shoulder gives a lot of coverage. Btw, this one is a 10P - the length is PERFECT with my heels on.) My intention is to choose one of them and then return at least one. Very content with Alex Evenings for looking classy and not cheap.

Pros:Sizing is accurate and dress is flattering Cons: Very poorly sewn for a $100+ dress. Loose strings in multiple places and an uneven, sloppy closure that would be visible with hair up. Disappointed because I really wanted to love this dress!

Beautiful dress but I decided to return it due to the amount of glitter that was falling off when I tried it on. The glitter that ended up on my neck and arms was kinda a cute touch but I didn't think the venue would appreciate the amount that was going to be scattered on the floor.
