  • Barefoot splendor
Size: 8 Color: Yellow
Update: 8/23/2024 I got these in January and have put about 300 miles or more on them. Not only do I get compliments on these shoes everywhere I wear them, they are VERY comfortable, and the minimalist design has resulted in an increased strength in my feet, ankles and calves. I even hiked for miles in Joshua Tree National Monument in 90 degree heat. The soles are beginning to wear out, so I will be purchasing another pair. Now, when I wear shoes like Hokas, recommended by a physician, my ankles scream. In these shoes, my legs celebrate, and my feet feel like they are gripping the Earth's core! Update: 2/24/2024 It has been about a month with these shoes. I started wearing them more and then went for some extended trail walks (~5 miles). I love the way they engage my feet, ankles and calves. I feel a positive attachment to the ground, unlike over stuffed shoes like HOKA. While the HOKA shoes have their benefits, these minimal soled, barefoot shoes are great. Original Review: Some reviewers mention the lack of support and being able to feel gravel or stones. They may not be aware that these shoes are meant to be barefoot shoes - no support. The idea is to feel the ground and to allow one's feet to spread out as they would without modern footwear. I just received mine. The fit is perfect. They look great. I can't wait to take them out for a spin. I have been wearing Whitin Men's Cross Trainers as slippers for months. I really enjoy the way they feel, so I bought these chukka shoes. Benefits: 1. Low cost 2. Barefoot design 3. Attractive ... show more

  • One of the most comfortable pair of boots I've ever owned...
Size: 12 Color: Yellow
One of the most comfortable pair of boots I've ever owned. Bought these for a trip to South America where I did a lot of hiking/walking on rocky and uneven terrain. These boots feel like moccasins and are super flexible while still providing support in the ankle. They are lightweight but made with quality stitching. Uppers are leather, bottoms are solid rubber. The color was accurate as displayed. Comfortable and true fit. For versatility, they were just as at home on the trail as they were in a restaurant in Lima or Cusco- they go well with hiking shorts or blue jeans. I received a lot of compliments from locals as well as other tourists during my travels. I've had shoes (low cut) made by the same company in the past and still wear them. I guess they are considered a 'barefoot' type shoe by some. I just know they are comfortable and I highly recommend them. ... show more

  • Save some time, buy better insoles with them.
Size: 13 Color: Dark Brown
Overall these seem like great shoes from my short time wearing them so far. There's a few weird things about them - all easy to fix, but still weird. First, the laces that come in them are comically thick. They come with slightly thinner laces as well that I will be relacing them with shortly. Also, regardless of which laces you choose you'll probably want to relace them before extended wear. They come laced "out to in", with the ends going through the eyelets from the top/outside in, which results in the knot wanting to be tied underneath outside of the shoe. For me, these lace up almost as tight as they can go at the ankle, which means there's no gap for that knot underneath (it needs to be on top, laced in to out). The next weird thing is the silly bumps on the insoles labeled for various body parts - some kind of acupressure thing. But without any way to adjust it, it's just allegedly treating you for everything. The bumps are super-obvious when you're wearing the shoes, but they aren't NOT obvious either. You'll probably want something with better quality and no mystical medicine long-term. The final weird thing is the tag on them that says "TIPS: No machine wash, No exposed to the sun, No water temperature exceed 40 degrees" Okay, they're leather so the first and last ones are pretty obvious, but no sun? Seriously? Do they actually expect these to be worn indoors only? I'm sure they mean more like "don't just leave these out to bake in harsh sunlight for a long time" but yeah. Kinda weird. All in all, these seem like good shoes that will be quite comfortable once they're broken in. (Again, leather, so they have to learn to fit your feet.) ... show more

  • Sewn sole nice idea, but sole bottom wears rapidly. Maybe ideal for car trunk (boot haha).
Size: 12 Color: Yellow
+Sewn sole shoed not fall off like most modern glued on soles. + Could last years if not worn often, or stored in hot car for emergency footwear. + Better grip than Sperry's (a more expensive option to get sewn soles) + Less expensive than Altama Water/Urban hightops. + More compact than many "sneaker" type shoes, in case you have large feet (like size 12) and find that you can't fit your shod foot on a bicycle pedal. + True to size - I expected to need a 13, but got a 12 from warehouse cause why not, and surprise, it fit fine. - Sole compound wears quickly. I anticipate holes in the soles, soon. - Slippery feeling when wearing socks, but that goes away. - Tongue painful when laced up tight, especially at first. Just lace them super loosely. - Feet will hurt if you are standing for a long time on pavement. - Weird foot massage feeling when new, in lieu of even cushioning. +/- Funky/unique/stylish/goofy look. Price is decent. I may have talked myself into throwing these in the car trunk rather than wear them daily, in case I have car trouble when out wearing slippers. As a kid, I wore shoes until they had holes in the toe or wore through the sole, and that was with growing feet. As an adult, I've found shoes don't last long, even if I don't wear them often, because the soles always start to come unglued. My best shoes have been Sperry topsiders, and Walmart $20 hikers which give you about $20 worth of wet/dry/muddy hikes before falling apart one way or another. I've been interested in sewn soles, for this reason. I also wear slippers quite a bit (flip flops) because they are easy, comfortable, and affordable. But this means, that I could be out and about, run into some kind of emergency, and then be stuck in footwear that is not good for more than a mile of walking, or any running, climbing, etc. I have not found a good pair of shoes that could be put in a car, and months later, still hold together. I may have just talked myself into throwing these in the car. Run out of gas, car trouble, zombies etc., and they'll be good for more miles than I would likely need to walk, and cheaper than Sperry's. ... show more

  • Comfortable and Stylish! Comfortable and Stylish!
Size: 10 Color: Yellow
Nice Casual but slightly Rugged Looking Boots! Love them so far! They are true to size. I ordered a size 10US and it fit perfectly. The insoles are nice and comfortable with a pretty cool design as well (I’ll attach a photo) The outside is made of a nice suede like material too which makes it feel nice and soft all around! Am not sure how long they will hold up but time will tell and I’ll be back to let you know! ... show more

  • Good quality, good fit, good value!
Size: 10.5 Color: Brown
When I first put these shoes on, I liked the way they looked, but I thought they were too small, so I boxed them up to send them back. Of course, I never got around to returning them, so I tried them on again ... and they fit perfectly. What had I been thinking? Maybe my feet were swollen that day? I don't know... Anyway, I like a wide shoe -- that's why I ordered these. The leather and manufacturing both seem high quality. I love the style and how light they are. Having said all that, I don't think I'd wear these hiking in the woods. Maybe they could take the punishment, but I don't want to risk it, because for kicking around town, I'm wearing these shoes all the time. Dig! ... show more

  • The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
Size: 8.5 Color: Brreddish Brownown
I purchased these Chukka Style boots as an inexpensive, no frills driving and light wear and walking shoe. I wanted wide flat shoes to allow my feet to breath and allow for a little swelling of the feet while driving. THE GOOD: The size is true to me 8.5. The toe box is wide and doesn't crowd the toes. Plenty of wiggle room. I have excessively high arches so this flat non arch support shoe works for me. The heel box stays put while walking and driving but has plenty of room so it doesn't crowd my heel and cause pain while walking or driving. I got Red/Brown color, awsome color and looks way more expensive than they actually are. Very comfortable shoe for my use. The shoe stays secure on the foot. REMEMBER,this is a flat, no frills shoe. There is no arch support or padding of any kind in the shoe with the exception of a thin foam insole. This is based on a Chukka boot or shoe which is basically a type of moccasin. THE BAD: The laces are worthless. Flimsy and will not last. Mine started to frey after 4 days of use but I replaced as I do with most of my shoes elastic nylon laces. The Plastic/rubber sole is very thin and I have a concern about durability and longevity of the sole. THE BAD: The seller states these shoes are leather. It does appear to be leather, however, it is not stamped anywhere on the shoe and also, the size is not listed anywhere on the shoe. low grade and looks to be bonded leather which is ground up leather, then bonded to a textile backing, imprinted with a grain and laminated to protect it. So you need to understand this before purchasing this. As is typical, there are misleading statements about this shoe on the sellers page. It would have given 4 stars for these shoes if it wasn't for the misleading information on the sellers page. LAST THOUGHTS. I gave these shoes a 3 star as I was pretty was concerned about how they were presented with a little mis direction on how these were constructed. I pretty much got, for the price what I expected. THESE ARE NOT HIKING SHOES. I do recommend these if you understand what you are purchasing. ... show more
