I ordered these shoes for my partner to try as he has a hard time finding shoes that are comfortable. He likes the fit and comfort, thought they looked a "little funky" but wore them recently to a family gathering and everybody commented on them. The only thing he really has complained about is the only the two top shoelace holes are reinforced with grommets, the lower ones he feels will eventually tear through. I guess we'll see but so far so good.

+Sewn sole shoed not fall off like most modern glued on soles. + Could last years if not worn often, or stored in hot car for emergency footwear. + Better grip than Sperry's (a more expensive option to get sewn soles) + Less expensive than Altama Water/Urban hightops. + More compact than many "sneaker" type shoes, in case you have large feet (like size 12) and find that you can't fit your shod foot on a bicycle pedal. + True to size - I expected to need a 13, but got a 12 from warehouse cause why not, and surprise, it fit fine. - Sole compound wears quickly. I anticipate holes in the soles, soon. - Slippery feeling when wearing socks, but that goes away. - Tongue painful when laced up tight, especially at first. Just lace them super loosely. - Feet will hurt if you are standing for a long time on pavement. - Weird foot massage feeling when new, in lieu of even cushioning. +/- Funky/unique/stylish/goofy look. Price is decent. I may have talked myself into throwing these in the car trunk rather than wear them daily, in case I have car trouble when out wearing slippers. As a kid, I wore shoes until they had holes in the toe or wore through the sole, and that was with growing feet. As an adult, I've found shoes don't last long, even if I don't wear them often, because the soles always start to come unglued. My best shoes have been Sperry topsiders, and Walmart $20 hikers which give you about $20 worth of wet/dry/muddy hikes before falling apart one way or another. I've been interested in sewn soles, for this reason. I also wear slippers quite a bit (flip flops) because they are easy, comfortable, and affordable. But this means, that I could be out and about, run into some kind of emergency, and then be stuck in footwear that is not good for more than a mile of walking, or any running, climbing, etc. I have not found a good pair of shoes that could be put in a car, and months later, still hold together. I may have just talked myself into throwing these in the car. Run out of gas, car trouble, zombies etc., and they'll be good for more miles than I would likely need to walk, and cheaper than Sperry's.

Men's 8.5, for usual women's size 10, maybe a smidge wider than medium: Have been wearing these regularly to work (indoors) for 3 winter months, & find them very comfortable for business-casual office wear, with a style that has character & personality (particularly for someone gently resisting being nearly 60). - If you purchase as walking shoes, be aware that they are meant to be barefoot shoes, so there is noticeable groundfeel and sensation of the textured outsole: I didn't realize this, & just learned from another review, but as they're advertised as driving mocs, I wasn't surprised by the lack of arch or any typical walker-type insole. Now that I know, I'll probably try barefoot for a while, although after these first few months, I have been considering adding inserts. That is probably just my cranky old dogs; I think it's up to individual preference. - With the full disclosure that I have cankles - The material is very sturdy, and consequently rather thick & stiff, almost like leather work boots, so I often feel/notice the ankle-boot height of this particular style "cut into" my leg in a way I wish it didn't, unless I tie the laces rather loosely at the top. Nevertheless, I'm still wearing them, assuming they will gradually soften over time, & I think I'm going to get a pair in grey at the lower, regular shoe height. - Seller: Please straighten out the Care instructions, as they don't make sense: The material claims to be "Leather," but the Cleaning recommendation is "Machine wash." Nnnnno: Either they're something manmade that can be safely machine-washed, or they are leather & have to be cleaned like leather.
