These are an economical replacement for the Coway filters. They look almost identical and fit pretty close to the originals. I feel they are a terrific deal for the price. I cannot speak to the lifespan because we have not had them long enough, but they have functioned great so far.

We have multiple Coway AP-1512HH air filters, along with numerous animals, so these are running continuously on setting 2 with the ionizer. As you can imagine, the cost of filters adds up, so have been looking at generic substitutes. Comparing these to the OEM Coway filters, you can see where some corners were cut to reduce cost. The fit/sizes are inconsistent - one was slightly too large (only on one end) and I had to squeeze it a bit to make it fit, but most are slightly undersized. This results in a fit that does not seal tight around the edges, inevitably allowing particles through. OEM Coway filters fit perfectly, and do not allow side-to-side movement like these. If The carbon filters are comparable to OEM and fit perfectly and have a good density. Overall, I would say these are a decent deal. I am sure we are losing a bit of filtration performance due to the sizing issues, but the cost savings is worth it to me. Compared to $60 for one HEPA and 2 carbon, these are a bargain.

A lot of companies don't make a lot of profit on their products, they make it on refills which have a much higher profit margin. Think inkjet and laser printers. Over the years, I've purchased a lot of 3rd party (non-OEM) refills and supplies, and have had really good luck. My laser printers have non-OEM toner, I buy 3rd-party ink for inkjets, and I buy 3rd-party filters for my two Coway Airmega 200M Air Purifiers. I haven't purchased this particular brand before, but these seem identical to other ones I've purchased in the past. They seem to fit fine, the charcoal and HEPA filters appear to be good quality. I think they're all made in a few factories in China and just rebranded. Am I expecting these to last as long as OEM? Probably not. But they are so much cheaper that even if I only get 70% of the life of Coway originals, I'm way ahead. I don't mind changing them a bit more often. If you have a very high sensitivity to micro-particles or pollen, maybe you should get Coway OEM filters. But if you're like me and simply want to reduce the dust and pollen in the house, these make a lot of sense.

I bought my Coway Air Purifiers (which had been recommended by the NYTimes Wirecutter) during last summers Canadian Forest Fires, when my sky was thick with smoke. The Coway AP-1512HH model uses 3 filters: a washable pre-filter for dust bunny material, and separate carbon (odor) and HEPA (fine dust & smoke) filters. The carbon filter has ½ the lifetime of the HEPA filter and so is to be changed twice as frequently. Thus most Coway AP-1512HH filter replacement kits provide 2 carbon filters for each HEPA filter. Coway uses the proven Gillette marketing principal: sell the device cheap and make money selling the consumables. Conway’s AP-1512HH filter kit (Coway direct sells 4 different Filter Kits specialized for your specific needs: normal [Fresh Starter], forest fire, allergen, pet dander) normally sells for $60 (currently $38 for Fresh Starter on Amazon). Amazon sells generic replacement kits for as low as $18. So every year, when I turn on my AC/Heat, I replace my filters. But who looks up the specific part numbers when ordering or even remembers that both carbon & HEPA filters are needed; I just enter AP-1512HH filter in search field. So when offered these filters by Vine, I ordered them – not looking closely enough at the description to realize that no carbon odor filter was included – just the HEPA filter. Nobody sells just carbon odor filters, so these HEPA filters are useless as stand alone replacements. While the HEPA filter itself appeared to be well made and fit almost as snugly as my genuine Coway HEPA filter, I consider selling the HEPA filter alone, without the necessary odor filter at what appears to be an attractive price, deceptive marketing and so am giving only 1 Star.
