  • Review for imyyds Portable Airbrush kit
Color: Black
So I picked this portable air brush kit up from amazon on Prime day. What dose it come with: It comes with 3 cups and caps at different sizes depending on how much paint you won’t to hold. Charging cable because yes it runs off a lithium battery and can not run when you have it plugged up (well don’t know that but don’t try it). A airbrush that’s has a tensioner on back to control airflow and paint flow (2 of the 3 airbrush’s I’ve got don’t have that, the higher end model I’ve got dose). One 4 foot braided air hose cable (none of the kits I’ve got ever came with one had to buy that separately, but come with a hose just not braided). A bag of cleaning tools (also they never came in a kit I’ve got before even the high end molds didn’t). Also a one year warranty from amazon wait what. The only kit that had that was the higher end mold everything else sorry here is the part number buy it from this website. Ok now I’ve got 2 air compressors but eyed one of these along time ago on Green Stuff worlds website. I do believe this is the same kit just not the logo or branding from them. Also I’ve not been able to find it on there website again. Now I wanted to see if this thing could hold up to a full priming and painting like the other 2 bigger compressors can. So I spent 2 hours running it at 1 minute to 5 minutes on and off. Then 10 minutes to 20 minutes with out stopping. To my surprise yep it held up. Now this little thing just kept on going unlike the other 2 full mini compressors. With them they would slow down and sputter here and there plus they have been through a lot of painting, With this it’s new. A full charge lasted the full 2 hours and still had 25% left so it would probably last 3 hours plus on and off paint session. Now who is this made for: It’s made for newer painters that wont to get into airbrushing. It’s made for people who live in small apartments or homes. It also made for the traveler that goes to painting classes and they ether didn’t bring there compressor or one wasn’t provided for them to use. It’s also made for the person who just has a few minis to paint but don’t wont to pull out the bigger compressor for them. Now would I recommend this: Thats a yes. Ok now for the price and all the stuff it comes with definitely yes. Now for the long run won’t know that only time will tell because runs off a lithium battery and that never lasts. The price will very because I bought it on Prime day and now the price has went up to $70 so I would wait it goes on sell again. Also Yes I have to put a disclaimer because there will be that one person. * Disclaimer this doesn’t come with paint, paints, primer, primers or any airbrush clear, (don’t thank that it dose because it doesn’t) all will have to be purchased separately at your local gaming store or online. This is a airbrush kit and just the airbrush and tools for set airbrush. The list of what comes with the airbrush is above in (What dose it come with) * ... show more

  • Straightforward and great for beginners
Color: Black
I'm new to airbrushes, and have been putting off getting one because I was afraid of spending money on something that would break or I wouldn't be able to figure out. This airbrush was a pleasant combination of affordable, easy to use, and (so far at least) works like a charm! Set-up: I was pretty much able to use it instantly: I took it out, charged it, and then put it all together - the parts are pretty intuitive, so even though there isn't much by way of instructions in the kit itself, the video on Amazon's page were more than enough to help me understand all the parts to set it up. I like how straightforward this is for a beginner like me. I did get confused for a moment when I turned on the air-compressor and it made noise for a second... and then stopped. I thought it was broken! But nope, I just forgot that this was the battery-saving version, where the air-compressor only turns on when you have the airbrush in use. So if you push the "on" button and nothing seems to happen, depress and pull back on the air-brush's trigger - and it should start up again! Once I knew that, I was confidant that I had it all assembled correctly and everything was working as intended. Use: I'm using basic acrylic paints + water to thin them out, although I might switch over to mini-paints - as those are already much thinner. It did take me a bit to get the ratio I wanted, as I needed something thin enough to go through the airbrush but also not just spit out tinted water. I did test out some airbrush thinner medium that I picked up from Hobby Lobby, but honestly the results of that vs just water were the same. I did struggle just a bit with adjusting the spray nozzle. You're supposed to be able to adjust the output by screwing or unscrewing the silver knob at the back, but I couldn't tell that it made much difference - admittedly, though, I didn't try very long, because I was already more than happy with what was coming out! I was getting a spray radius of about a pea-size when up-close, and then obviously larger radiuses as I pulled away. I also got pretty decent coverage when I had the trigger pulled back all the way, although I can understand how going over surfaces multiple times is sometimes needed. (This isn't a paint-brush where you can just instantly get 100% opacity in one stroke, but it's still pretty fantastic.) Cleaning: Again, thanks to the video included on the item's sale page here, cleaning was very straight forward. I've heard that clogging due to poor maintenance is the #1 killer for airbrushes, and was so scared about that - I used the back-flow feature liberally with clean water to wash this out. Then I followed the video and took it apart. Unscrewing the inner piece to get the... the needle-thing on the inside... sorry, I don't know the terminology!... got me stuck for a moment, but that was because I was trying to unscrew the wrong thing. So I went back to the video and tried again - and also used a bit more force, as it was screwed in pretty tightly. Once I'd loosened off that fixture, the metal needle part came out and I was able to give it a good clean. I could see instantly that this NEEDED to be done, as the paint was pretty visible on the needle. After that, it was pretty easy to use the included brushes and such to clean it out and put the airbrush back together again. I'll update if I try it again and learn anything new, or if any issues arise with future uses! So far so good, though! Update 1 (still good!): I used it for a second time and panicked when at first it wouldn't work - air came out, but no paint!! BUT then I took it apart and cleaned the needle, which had some paint on it from before (I was sure I'd cleaned it thoroughly, but apparently I'm not as thorough as I thought). And that was all it took! Once I'd cleaned it up, everything worked fabulously again. So still full marks for this product! ... show more

  • Perfect for 3D Printed Prototypes. We even bought a 2nd airbrush 6 weeks later
Color: Black
This imyyds airbrush solved our painting issues associated with 3D prototype printing that we had been struggling with for a few months. We bought our 1st airbrush in March 2023 to carefully paint 3D printed medical prototypes. Our parts are <3"x3"x3" (optics holders, gears, mounts, etc) and their instrument cases are <10"x6"x3". It is easy to make professional looking parts for demos and alpha/beta testing. The airbrush makes a very smooth and thin paint coat compared to a typical spray paint can, even when the spray can used a specialized trigger/gun handle. After trying it out for a while, we bought a 2nd airbrush, mostly as a back up. It can also be used to paint a different color (on the same part of different parts) before taking time to clean out the 1st airbrush's color. For our purposes, we prefer to use our own small air compressor at about 50 psi (with a separate trigger) because of the types of paint we use. imyyds' provided USB portable air compressor works fine for most applications. It is important to clean the airbrushes with the supplied cleaning tools soon after you are done painting to prevent clogging. This takes a little time more time than cleaning a spray can nozzle, but the results are well worth it. ... show more
