  • May Be Challenging Depending on Type Vehicle, but does WORK!!!
We purchased this Air Door Actuator - BECAUSE it says' it Replaces 89018365, 604-106, 52402588 - Fits 1994-2012 Chevrolet, Chevy, GMC - Silverado... Well we have our 2004 GMC 2500, and we decided to put this thing to the test. Since our 04 GMC truck was blowing hot on one our side driver side and cold on the other, then sometimes hot on both, this was actually too hot during the summer months, nobody minds warm air in the winter. We had taken it to a so called- local reputable A/C mechanic who said he couldn't find the problem. But then charged us for 1-Putting in more freon, that was not needed, and it was reading freon was good, 2- they also installed another compressor after the one they had installed in the first place didn't seem to remedy the problem 3- and some other part I don't remember the name of. We figured they probably laughed all the way to the bank. While we got charged for outrageous parts which did not solve the A/C problem, although they did not charge us for anything but the part I can't remember the name of, but the vehicle compressor replacement part was still under warranty; dot dot dot, but replacing that which was like a bandage and a needless bill no matter who paid. This taught us a lesson just for going back in to them after the dealer had used them to no avail, about our vehicle A/C unit. So, after all that, and some time burning up and cooling down, we took the vehicle in for tinting less than a month ago, to try and relieve us from some of the heat waves, fortunately for me the guy and I was talking, and when I mention how hot it gets inside the truck sometimes when my air is on, and I said something about what I believed the problem was that I needed to get to, I said, I think the cabin doors are not opening properly, the guy was young but knowledgable and told me he had a something like that happen recently to his chevy truck which he pointed out to me, and happen to mention it was probably my air actuator door, shucks, I had never heard of that before, I'm not a mechanic, I am a want to be: but I went home and immediately did some research on google actuators and the results are in, my friend. Then I took to Amazon, when I saw this part on amazon, I was happy, it was at a reasonable price, but that day, I still couldn't afford it I was spent out after tinting, so kept watching it, reading all the reviews, and discussing it with my mate, I needed resolution. The day came, days later, this same month, payday, I could afford the part. Anyway, I had to pick and choose, I needed an oil change, so I went to Walmart to get everything I needed for an oil change, filters, oil, you know the drill, then I noticed, where it listed a cabin air filter, NOW I AM TRIPPING AGAIN, because I can't locate that filter number at Walmart so I go to Amazon, where I find, nothing. UPDATE: We also got purchased a cabin air filter with our air actuator filter, on AMAZON. Alright, so we decided to take to watching youtube videos where we discovered, how to help ourselves, seeing how others were learning of this too. After the video we went outdoors to locate everything on our vehicle, of course you know everything is not going to be exactly alike, but it was close enough to give us pointers on what to do. By WATCHING someone else who had issues and did this for installation of a 2004 Chevy, solved their problem, we gave it a chance, based on that and the many reviews on amazon, we choose to purchase this item, along with the other parts we saw we needed that week just before that weekend, it arrived in a day or so, along with the air actuator filter and the door just in case we had to cut an opening, like another vehicle and installer did his in the air filter mod youtube video, The GOOD NEWS, our A/C problem has been resolved, we haven't cut into the air filter part for the mod yet, but next time, maybe next weekend, thanks to a tip from our tinting guy, who gave me a real heads up, a wake up call I needed, because I couldn't figure out what our problem with the A/C unit was, for two years, and all I had to go on was the ole cabin air door thought that I dreaded...I didn't want to remove the whole dash thing. For us, it was a bit longer than 20-30 minutes for installation because we were not in a rush, and do have a different construction than that of the Chevy install guy in the youtube video we watch, and we are not mechanics, but it was very helpful, and in one day, less than 2 hours I suppose, we was able to get the job completed. So, thanks to Amazon we found the parts all what we needed to make things happen at way less and affordable cost than what we paid a professional. I would, we recommend this air actuator part, if you have this or these type vehicle(s) listed. Hope this helps. ... show more

  • Works perfectly
I have gone years with no AC in my truck. A shop wanted $400 to test and install the door actuator. It took me about an hour to replace this and it works great. I have AC again it's all because of this little part.

  • I can’t believe I waited so long
My a/c has been blowing hot air on the drivers side of my 2005 Silverado for years. I found out all I needed to do is shut off the engine and restart it and it would blow cold air again. After changing this part , I haven’t had the problem happen again. Don’t wait , just fix it.

  • Great deal
Better price than the auto stores and works as it should

  • Worked perfectly
Product as described. Felt heavier than the stocked OEM. Mine was 2004 Tahoe. Saved a ton of money doing it yourself. Fyi. Getting the part on is a bit of a pain due to the way GM designed the location. Thus, go it yourself. Will update if anything changes.
