Re: Atlantic Furniture Nantucket Murphy Bed Chest The Amazon reviews are spot on. This is a solid piece of furniture when it fits the need. It is well built, but note you should expect a little assembly project (2 persons and a power screwdriver). I am a 70-year old male in decent shape, and did the assembly in about an hour with a handyman helper. As mentioned in the reviews, this piece comes in three corrugated containers, so you’ll have some hefty trash to ditch as well. Amazon’s deliver was just great, right to my front door. The bedding size is standard queen, however, as the mattress is only about 6" thick, the fitted sheet is a bit looser than I'd like. Hard to find fitted sheeting that is not one-size-fits-all. Still, I found it comfortable in a quick test and our first guest (female, 52 years) said it was quite comfortable throughout her stay of two weeks. As you'll see in my photos, I mainly use this bed as a working cabinet in my home-office. Wow…just the perfect size (24.5” top depth) for my printer and cutting board. Frankly, even if I didn't need the murphy bed I would buy this again just for its size/cost/functionality as office furniture... I was tempted to store the mattress in our attic and use the inside for all of my camera gear!! ;o) BONUS! I was surprised to find the bottom right side of the cabinet has two neatly integrated built-in outlets and two USB ports. Fantastic for my guests to charge her iPhone, iPad, and laptop, with an extra outlet for a night light. Brilliant add-ons that were not included in the photos or description when I purchase then unit. I also swapped the hardware with handles that matched the rest of my recently renovated room. This piece is an exceptional piece of furniture and I would ABSOLUTELY recommend it.

Okay, this is an actual piece of furniture. We purchased the white queen size. The first thing we noticed is that the finish is paint, not laminate, which means it can be touched up if damaged unlike a laminate surface. It was well packaged and delivered on a wood pallet. The instructions were well written and easy to follow. All the pieces fit together well and the finish was nearly perfect. What we were most impressed with are the materials used to construct this thing. It is seriously made of hardwood, yes, all hardwood and no particle board. It's very heavy, but built to last. The mattress is very nice and comfortable. The only complaint I would have, and it's not really a complaint, is the amount of packing materials to dispose of. Very nice piece of furniture for the money!!!

We've had the bed for about a month and my wife and I have slept on it only 4or 5 times, and it is pretty comfortable and looks very attractive in our beach condo. It seems pretty solid and I'm not a small person.There were some things that we weren't altogether pleased with: 1) The paint finish is spotty, our unit has some areas where the white paint is thinly applied and you can see the wood underneath, these areas are mainly inside the cabinet so you don't see them when our bed is stored. 2) The left side handle for the bottom pull out section was drilled off center, it's not something that guests will notice but it is over one inch off center which draws my eye every time I stare at the front of the unit. 3) One of the side latches was twisted and bent probably from shipping, I was able to take it off and straighten it without too much trouble. 4) We were able to speak to someone in customer service who asked us to send pictures showing our areas of concern, which we haven't done yet. I will take some pictures and follow up with them and I'll let ya'll know how things turn out. Take care and god bless!

Trust me do not buy from this company!! I've been trying for 2 weeks to get a refund for the item with little to no help. The only items that arrived are the ones pictured (and matress). The doors and main bed frame are missing, drawers will not shut completely and the corner of the frame is busted. It took over 2 weeks for the missing parts to show up. I requested a refund before they even shipped the missing items and they refused to issue one. The base of the bed is gaped as well which no one would know until the bed was put tog. Now they're telling me they won't issue a refund unless it's in its exact original packaging and never been put tog. I'm on my second a to z claim with Amazon with no resolution. Everyone is expecting for me to pay to ship 5 boxes back to the seller for a product that is damaged (well over $300 cost). I'm at my wits end and for the low end quality product trust me it's not worth the money.

I ordered this bed cabinet for family that comes by and visits as an additional bed in the office. I have to say it had a few parts but nothing like Ive seen from other furniture makers. Most of the items were already completed.All I had to do was connect the large parts and an 1 1/2 later I had a bed ready to go. I was amazed at the tri-fold mattress. A true 6 inches thick and very solid and comfortable. I would advise anyone looking for an additional bed to purchase this one. I purchased the grey and it is GREAT!!

Queen white Nantucket Chest bed was assembled by my daughter & I in about 3 hours. Sturdy nice quality bed. My daughter & boyfriend said it was a comfortable to sleep on. Had a problem getting the bottom drawer to close all the way. Jzekiah at AFI worked with me and resolved the problem. My husband put 3 boxes on the top panel and cracked the wood. Jzekiah came through again offering to ship a replacement top panel. This works very nicely as a guest bed in my husband's office. It looks nice, is a comfortable bed, is easy to open and allows room in the room. Very happy with this bed and the excellent customer service/manufacturer that make any issues dissappear quickly and easily.
