The media could not be loaded. I absolutely love this product! I was always scared to attempt to contour because of the investment in everything that you needed: differ colors, brush applicators and appears that you needed to be somewhat of a makeup guru to do. But I saw the some of their videos on how easy it was to contour and decided to give it a try. I would have recorded the process of doing this first ever contour. However, I wanted to follow along with the Aesthetica tutorial video (on YouTube;). I literally followed along with the video. As the video recommended, I applied my foundation, concealer and did my eye make up. I also choose to do it this way because I am battling with melsama on my face. It was incredibly easy and fast to apply. I took a little extra time blending with my beauty blender because I never did this before & I barely know how to put make up on! 🙈 For it’s ease of use, quality of makeup, longevity and blend ability, I highly recommended!

This is kind of my first attempt at real contouring. I've attempted it slightly in the past, by putting on my skin colored foundation, followed by a slightly darker powder for contouring, finished off with a lighter face color. It never really looked like contouring. After watching a few Youtube videos, I decided to buy 'real' contouring makeup. It's kind of fun to paint your face like a warrior. I put down a base with liquid foundation, slightly lighter than my own skin color. I then make dark brown streaks in all of the areas I want to create shadow. I usually blend this in before I add the white highlights. I have to admit, I was wary the first time I wore the makeup in public. To me, it felt very thick and obvious. I thought I would only be able to use it at night, but I've been pleasantly surprised. I've been using it for daily wear, and no one has told me it's too thick. In fact, my boss commented on how refreshed I looked, saying I was just glowing. It does need another application if you plan to take wear it all day and into the night. You don't have to redo all of the zebra stripes, but if it gets past 6:00 and I want to wear it out, I just take a thick blending brush, tap it into the color and put another slight application on. I spray it with a finishing spray after every application. The only concern I have is that the makeup trays are kind of tiny for the amount of makeup you have to apply for effective contouring. I have a feeling I'm never going to use much of the deepest brown, being extremely fair skinned, so I have a feeling all of the colors I use will run out fairly quickly and leave me with a few tones I don't need.

I bought this product as a beginning contour kit. I would say I'm reasonably experienced in the basics of makeup (foundation, eyeshadow, mascara, concealer, lipstick) but have recently felt the urge to delve deeper into its many facets. Among these are the infamous contouring and highlighting. I originally watched a video review of both this kit and the IT Cosmetics kit: cream vs. powder, less contrasting vs. more contrasting colors, different packaging, etc. After a lot of pros and cons, I decided to go with this one, as the colors seemed to apply well, it is compact, and it offers more shades that are closer to my own skin tone (fair/light). I was initially disappointed upon receiving this product. It arrived covered in a thin layer of bubble wrap inside of an envelope, whereas I had expected it to arrive nicely packaged and boxed up. Furthermore, because of the close proximity of the product and its packaging, the warm weather of that day heated it up and upon opening the contour kit, some of the cream on the top had melted and turned into a liquid film. You can imagine that I was NOT a happy camper. However, the cream did work fairly well (after everything cooled off and dried). You have to layer a bit, and I consider that a plus since I'm a beginner and less is more. The shades apply with more of an orange tone than I would prefer, particularly with my skin since anything that deviates even a bit from normal shows up more on light tones. I have not experienced any breakouts from the product. The packaging of the actual product, in contrast to its arrival state, is quite nice; it comes inside a cardboard slip along with a packet that tells you how to contour and highlight different areas of your face as well as offers diagrams for a visual aid in how to contour and highlight various face shapes. Upon opening the actual cream kit, there is another (transparent plastic) diagram of a woman's face with marks indicating general areas where one would contour and highlight. Overall, I think that this is an acceptable beginning contour kit. The cream is of good quality, does not wear off over the course of the day, and layers well. The shades are versatile. The fact that they comes off orange may only be the result of my skin type (I have the same problem with drugstore foundations). I am deducting a star mainly because of the state in which this product arrived, and I hope that this will not happen to other people.
