  • Loved it
Format: Kindle
I've had the original Bushcraft 101 in my library for quite a while now. I was interested in seeing what this advanced version had included. I was not disappointed. Tons of info and illustrations. Each chapter ends with tips and tricks. This book is a great addition to your library if you are into survival skills and bushcraft. ... show more

  • Expert Advice
Format: Paperback
The bushcraft library isn’t complete without this series from Dave Canterbury. He lives as an educator, teaching many classes online and especially at his self reliance survival school.

  • Both of Dave Canterbury's books are excellent and I highly recommend both as gifts to friends ...
Format: Paperback
Without a doubt one of the most concise books on survival and bushcraft. Whether for when SHTF, prepping, end of the world scenario's etc. or just plain educational knowledge regarding outdoor techniques. Both of Dave Canterbury's books are excellent and I highly recommend both as gifts to friends or family. This is the type of material that should be mandatory in schools to help kids learn more than video games, tv, and electronics. Instead playing a game about something take this knowledge and help them "GO LIVE" with it. This dips back into aspects of old outdoorsmen writers such as Horace Kephart's, "Camping and Woodcraft" but also adds a new and updated spin including building kit components from modern implements and technology as well as living off of the land. He also gets into the quality of components you choose for your various kits and how longevity is key to items you need to have at your disposal. I can't recommend this book and its predecessor enough. I also will say if Dave Canterbury speaks, its worth listening because he knows of what he speaks and writes. The only thing I could recommend is to offer the book in a waterproof "rite-in-the-rain" style format. BUY multiple copies now and give as gifts to watch your friends actually get lost in something for the first time in a long time. For any amount of money this material is actually "PRICELESS". ... show more

  • A knowledgeable read
Format: Kindle
I learned some tips i've not seen before especially in navigating without a compass. Their is some good basic info on metal forging, a future passion of mine. I only gave a four star because although the charts and drawings were good I would of liked to see more and possibly some color charts for the plants. Probably not Dave's fault but I read this on a kindle it would of been nice to magnify some of the drawings such as the different tarp set-up. I am a big fan of Dave Canterbury especially his videos and his self reliance store which he reviews a lot of his and others products out in the field. I'm happy to add this to my collection of survival and bushcraft books, but with all his knowledge I'd like to see something going even more in depth in details. ... show more

  • great ideas/advice on a longer term camp
Format: Kindle
Ok preppers-there’s information here that really could come in handy, make life easier or just plain more comfortable. Nice addition to the collection. The 1st couple books had most of the Boy Scout stuff in them. Here’s your Eagle Scouts Book!

  • A must have for any survival enthusiasts
Format: Paperback
This is the perfect survival book for anyone to own. Especially for beginners. If you're an expert, you might learn a thing or two. It's very informative and has everything that you need to know for basic understanding on how to survive. It doesn't matter on your skill level, having this book could teach you or anyone you know how not to die in the wilderness. I highly recommend this book to all beginners and moderate bushcrafters that this book will be the absolute perfect book to have as a collection. I could go all day bragging how good this book is. It's a number one must have. After mastering these skills, it'll be hard to find a similar book with these teachings and information. ... show more

  • EXCELLENT BOOK AND FOLLOW-UP TO DAVE CANTERBURY'S FIRST BOOK, BUSHCRAFT 101
Format: Kindle
Dave Canterbury, to my mind, is the undisputed guru when it comes to backwoods / wilderness survival and associated skills. Dave doesn't simply write about this stuff, or test things that others make and review them. He lives his craft, teaches it to multitudes, and writes very informative books and blogs on these associated topics.. I have two of his excellent books; BUSHCRAFT 101, and ADVANCED BUSHCRAFT - each meant to be a field guide to the art of wilderness survival.. Canterbury is a very accomplished writer and author. His books are easy to read and understand while being generously peppered with superbly drawn illustrations explaining the topic at hand. This book is a welcomed follow up to his Bushcraft 101 book. It provides many advanced techniques seldom found elsewhere. If you want to learn basic and advanced woodsman skills, learn them from the best.. Dave Canterbury is, IMHO, the best there is.. ... show more
