These skates fit well on my 7 year old son. He wears a US youth size 3.5, so he falls dead in the center of the 2Y-5Y sizing, and the skates were comfortable and seemed like they will work with him for another 1-2 years. I am not really familiar with non-hockeynbrand skates for kids, as his only other pair were Bauer's that he almost immediately outgrew. So these skates should last longer, but imas an adult league hockey player, it surprised me the steel isn't removable. I don't even recall if his tiny Bauer skates had removable steel or not, but if something is suppose to last for 3 shoe sizes, it is reasonable the steel could grind down after a number of sharpens.

These skates are perfect for kids just learning to skate. The adjustable sizing means they’ll last more than one season, and the triple protection straps give great ankle support. My daughter said they felt stable and comfortable even after a long skating afternoon. The blades needed sharpening before use, but once that was done, they glided smoothly on the ice. A reliable and well-made choice for beginners. Definitely worth buying than renting.

I love these! It's amazing that this brand makes skates big enough for adults since the skates seem more like kids' skates than adults. I appreciate that these fit my ginormous feet. This model has some nice materials and are well-made. The laces, though, are awful. As soon as they make contact with the Velcro strap, they get torn apart. However, they're short laces, so a good solution would just be to buy some replacement laces. It shouldn't cost much. There's nothing else that seems poor-quality. There's no toe-pick, but unless you want to train in figure skating, you don't need a toe-pick. For starting out or for just recreational skating, these skates are fine. (Unless you've gotten used to having a toe-pick. There might not be any coming back from that.) The fit is great. In fact, I wear a 9.5 or 10 shoe in womens, and my ice skate size is typically a 9, so I have big feet. These shoes are too big for me on their biggest setting! Wow. I adjusted them, and they feel good. The adjustment process is a bit tough, but you don't have to do it often. The inner lining is cushy and adjusts well with the skate frames. The Velcro is solid, and the top strap pulls quite tightly for good ankle support in a skate. Love the colors, too! I highly recommend these. Aside from the weak laces, I have no complaints. There are higher-quality skates out there that you can buy. They have toe-picks (specifically for figure skating--I don't know as much about hockey skates) and hard, durable leather shoes. These skates here are a way to save money. But they're also pretty high-quality for what they offer, honestly. So why not?

We have a spot in our yard where we put up a very large pool every summer and we have decided to put up an ice rink during the winter. These will work perfectly for our ice rink for our 9 year old. I had him try them on and he walked around perfectly fine. I LOVE that they are adjustable. These kids grow so fast so I love buying things that can grow with them. The skates are very supportive, very much like rollerblades. They are easy to put on and take off. I love how sporty these look too. My son loves them!

Overall, the fit was fine. My kid loves them, but the binding that secures one's ankle is chincy. My kids broke after the first use. Now I need to find a replacement binding.
