The ice skates are as expected, but we found they are not compatible with Skateez trainers. We purchased the XS and they are on the smallest setting. I'm not sure if the Skateez would sit flat if it were extended for a larger foot or not. We have extendable ice skates in a larger size (different brand) and Skateez work with them. We ended up getting our hands on a hand-me-down pair of hockey skates so they can use the Skateez to learn to skate and we'll use this pair when they get more comfortable skating without the trainers.

These are beautiful ice skates! Nice quality construction, love the size adjustability, and the color is so very pretty! Easy to put on and nicely padder for comfort and warmth. These will work well for our kiddo who already roller blades to learn to ice skate on. They're durable, well designed and the multiple ways to snug them up and customize the fit is really nice. I'm a huge fan of the size adjustments so kiddos can wear one pair of skates thru multiple shoe sizes so you don't have to buy a new pair every couple of months!

They definitely stand out and are attention-grabbing on the ice. The best feature for parents is the 4-Size Adjustable system. These are great skates! I can't believe this, but they actually fit me! I'm a woman whose typical shoe size is 9.5 and whose ice skates size is 9, but wouldn't you know that these size-large skates fit me perfectly on their largest setting! Go figure. You get what you pay for and then some because these skates are brilliantly designed to save on materials costs. Instead of leather, you get PVC. Some parts are plastic that could in theory break with frequent use, like the tightening strap. But I think you'd get a lot of use out of these before that would happen. They're not flimsy or anything like that, they're just not the ideal materials. For kids, these would be great for beginners and recreation. If your kid is taking lessons (for more than just fun times, like they want to skate seriously), I'd get some higher-quality skates at some point. But you could start them in these, for sure. I like how these are already sharpened and ready for use. The laces are weak and flimsy, and you might want to replace them. (Shouldn't cost much.) Adjusting the skates is very easy. You just press a button and pull/push the front of the skate into position. It might take several minutes to get the perfect fit because you might have to keep taking them off, adjusting them, and putting them back on. There are no "stops" between the shortest and longest lengths, if that makes sense, so you have to fine-tune it. And the inner lining can be unwieldly after you lengthen the skates, so you have to shove it forward with your hand a little so it doesn't cramp your toes. There are cheap, thin insoles included, which is another area like the laces where you can upgrade if you want by buying better ones elsewhere. (Most high-quality skates also don't come with great insoles, possibly because a lot of skaters get professional fittings or specific insoles sold separately.) But the ones included are fine. You don't need great ones. Highly recommend.
