I got the light blue stripes, which are made of corduroy, and a bit more on the aqua side than straight light blue. I had a similar pair in high school, like 1997 that I loved so much and have been trying to find again for years. These aren’t exactly the same, but the style definitely is and maybe even cuter. I’m usually hard on my sneakers, but this pair I’m going to keep nice so they last longer. I had trouble figuring out my size, so I referred to the European size 42 instead of the US, which I think is in Men’s. At first I thought they were too small, as my toes were touching- but it was just the side of my big toe. So the length was fine, and after 15 minutes of walking around there was no more rubbing at all. The material the inside is made of it very non-breathable. My feet never get hot or sweat, like ever, but after an hour of wearing these without socks it felt very swampy in there. So socks are a must with these. I’m so in love with this style though, I didn’t want to take them off after trying on. They are so flattering too, I’m used to shoes looking a bit ugly in my size (US women’s 11!) but these did not degrade in cuteness even in my size. I can’t wait to wear these with my summer dresses. Most definitely are not knockoffs either. They also came with another set of laces in matching light blue. Really great buy!

The Superstar is my favorite shoe. I have them in black, white/blue and white/red. They are great for any occasion. Walk 40 blocks on them in New York City, and my feet were great. There will always be a Superstar shoe in my closet for the rest of my life.

My youngest son is something of a shoe aficionado and convinced me to buy these, knowing the sight of them filled me with nostalgia. I had a similar pair back in middle school, though I can't quite recall the color of the stripes. No matter. These are everything I DID remember: molded-rubber shell toe, simple and sturdy leather uppers, classic tread that was ubiquitous back in the 80s, etc. They're comfortable, but I'm ready to take them off after 8-9 hours; it could be that I haven't quite broken them in yet. I've noticed that they start to bind on the tops of my feet after a long while. I wear slip-ons a lot, so it might be that I have to become re-accustomed to wearing lace ups (when you get older, comfort trumps style). Bottom line: ageless style, but not a 16-hour shoe.

The price of these all stars was better than Footlocker or the mall. These took me back to grade school when everyone was wearing the classics black on white shell-top adidas. They are not know specifically for comfort (not much arch support).

These pride shoes are to die for! I really wanted to make them fit and they did fit well length-wise, I'm a size 8/8.5 women's and ordered the size 7 as these are men's sizes. In a normal sneaker maybe the length would've been too long but this worked well with the hard top toe and I think a men's 6.5 would have felt uncomfortably short. Unfortunately, the Achilles heel (hahah) was the heel and overall width. I have a narrow foot and these shoes run a bit wide, probably because they are men's sizes. My heel keeps slipping out even with thicker ankle socks. Such a shame, these are probably the cutest sneakers I've ever temporarily owned.
