The adidas Superstar sneaker reigns supreme. The fan favorite launched in 1969 and quickly lived up to its name as NBA players laced into the now-famous shell-toe design. These men's shoes come in full grain leather with serrated 3-Stripes and a rubber cupsole. The Superstar was introduced in 1969 as the first low-top basketball shoe to feature an all-leather upper and the now famous rubber shell toe. These Adidas have been around for decades. Don't mess with a classic. I am compelled to do an in-depth review on these shoes. Not only are they cool and fashionable, I wear them for my line of work. Durable and equally comfortable. My job destroys the toes of shoes I've worn at work. Imagine that I kick a cheese grater twenty times a day. I need a durable toe, like a boot, but boots are too heavy and restrict my movements in tight spots. The Adidas shell toe is rubber. The shoes are lightweight. I get the durability I need with the ease of mobility. I've beaten the toes up badly for over year and they've still held up when other shoes would have had my toe poking through. These are the only shoe that have ever held up for me. They are the only shoe I will wear at work. I am a carpet installer. My job requires the right tools for the job, and shoes can fall into the category of tool. I need a white sole so that I don't leave any streaks on walls or floors. Black shoes can leave black marks behind. I also need a moveable, breathable athletic shoe that is not too clunky like a boot is, so I can move faster with more agility in tight spaces. Most importantly, I need shoes that can withstand a lot of toe abuse, much like a boot. Constantly bending down or unrolling carpet by kicking it with your feet will destroy the toes of a shoe fast. The shell toe Adidas takes a beating. This shoe is perfect for what I need it for. It has everything I particularly need in a work shoe. One thing I don't like is that the soles catch old pad staples when taking up old carpet. The tread is designed in a way that picks them up abundantly. You'll end up pausing to pick staples out of your heel. If not, staples sticking out of your shoe will scratch the floor you walk on. When I first saw these shoes it took me back to my youth so I had to buy a pair, then after I bought them I was nervous cause I couldn’t remember if I liked them or not. Then they got here and I put them on and those fears were gone, they are so comfortable and are such a classic. I bought the black with white stripes and people are always giving me compliments about them so I’m going to get a second pair here come payday. You can never go wrong with classics. These fit perfect, are comfortable, and are priced amazingly. I almost want to say don’t buy these shoes so they are still available when I come back next week to buy another pair after only having these less than 5 months, but I can’t do that cause these are too good if a shoe to lie about. ... show more

I love some shelltops and was super excited for these shoes. I ordered based on image and "color" description which says black/metallic black/white. This description appears to match the photo. When I opened the box after arrival I was super dissappointed to discover that the "color" was misleading. It matches the image, except the stripes that I thought were "metallic black" are transparent and you can see your socks. The light in the photograph does not make this apparent. I think they could have done better. I went back and read through all the "fine print" description and of course there it says that the stripes are transparent. . I guess my own fault for not reading it, but with a trusted brand I did not feel the need. Fool me once. . .Not sure how I feel about them now. I do own some pretty cool socks. . . Just not sure I feel the need to show them of? I kind of wonder if the transparent stripes will just get scratched up and look terrible? Fit was great as usual. I also noticed that putting my warm hands inside to photograph just fogged up the stripes. . . ... show more
