I tried Boston 11 for couple of long distance runs, but I have been too optimistic. Shoes created overloading of the Achilles tendon. However, this was my specific concern. This was my first Adidas in seven years. Other alternatives were more safe. Escape route ))) I applied orthopaedic insoles for facilities and Boston 11 became ny best walking shoes ever, seven miles average - nothing except positive energy!!!

This is the best shoe Adidas has released in 5+ years. I almost gave up on Adidas. Stiff cushioning, but softens after 50 miles use. Upper is ok. I had a problem with the tongue irritating the top of my foot and cut out that section to relieve the pressure. Toe box is wide for a Boston. I found that the Boston 10 is almost identical except the upper (including the tongue) is much more comfortable on the 10. The toe box on the 10 is tighter at first and then stretches a bit.

Been using these for a few months. Love the shoes. I have bad knees and flat feet. Terrible combination and am very picky about shoes. Love the fit, comfort and durability. Been using them a lot for hiking, walking and all purpose.

The Boston 11s buck the trend of softer, high stacked shoes by being quite firm. I do prefer stiff running shoes with plates, or in this case rods, to encourage proper form. Unfortunately, the upper is incredibly stiff, particularly the tongue. Like others have said, the edge of the tongue is sharp and stiff enough to cause pain and discomfort. The shoe does have enough flex that I can run confidently in them, but the moment I walk the stiffness becomes almost unbearable. Reducing the tightness of the laces does not seem to improve the situation much. I may have to put on two pairs of socks to alleviate the discomfort.

I ordered half a size up, and it's still uncomfortably tight. The collar of the shoe under my ankle bone digs into my flesh. The material surrounding the ankle is not soft. I was really looking forward to experiencing the effects of the embedded energy rods, but this pair of shoes did not make it out the front door on my feet.
