It does smell. Has to air out, and probably open it outside. I ordered a couple of these because my horses have outgrown their saddles and I didnt want to hunt down new saddles just to get them back in shape. I rarely leave reviews but figured id take a minute for others who are needing a temporary saddle. They arent super comfortable, but comfortable enough. Out of all my horses it fits all but one (she has no withers and is extra extra wide) They are sticky, the girls feel confident in them. And the reason I am leaving 5 stars. Its a bareback pads with stirrups and it can support weight in the stirrups without sliding side to side. I am seriously impressed with how well it sits for being basically a bareback pad. Girth is small, wont fit a horse. Only fits our med. And small ponies Stirrups, trash. I havent measured the saddles but the seem to fit a little small. Saddle. I ordered more. I do use a saddle pad under like a typical saddle. All the horses ride well in it and ive got some finicky wbs. But for a 200.00 saddle, its better then I anticipated and I did order multiple seat sizes so I always have a saddle to fit just about every rider and every horse when all else fails. ... show more
