I am somewhat pleasantly suprised. Cons first, it is NOT leather. Description says 100% Cow leather and this is not true. The seat, gullet and lining are a leather like material but I doubt it is real leather, and everything else is some sort of plastic. It looks a whole lot like leather from a distance, but as soon as you touch it its very clearly not. Even so whatever material it is does seem durable and of decent quality, except for whatever it is painted with which is cracking (as pictured). The stirrup bar is sticky and makes it very hard to attach/adjust stirrups, but I also primarily ride western so I may just be doing it wrong. As for the pros, all the stitchwork seems very thorough and sturdy, and the overall construction is nice for such an inexpensive saddle. The lining and gullet are even and there are no nails/screws/conches to be worried about. The stirrup leathers and billets are not leather, but they are very thick and sturdy and are lined with something leather-like on the outside. I only really ride english at shows and a couple times of month so this saddle will will fine for me, but consider investing in something that will last if you ride often. I plan on using this saddle with a nice correction half pad and keeping it well hydrated to try and slow the cracking, though I think I'm going to have to get some paint on leather to avoid breakage. This saddle is really great, especially for the price! It is SUPER comfortable and it is great quality! It arrived about 4 days before it was supposed to which was incredible! The stirrups were very difficult to put on though, but it is a great saddle for a great price! I am about 5'3 and 106 lbs, and I ordered a size 16" and it is a bit too small for me but not by much!! I highly recommend as a starter set! It does stain your breeches when it’s hot outside, but only really at the ankle area and a bit in your knees. But what can you expect from a cheap saddle lol. This saddle is great quality! The leather is in great condition! This is a 10/10 saddle. Would definitely recommend for a beginner who is just getting into English riding and needs a saddle. This saddle has a very nice and padded knee roll. The sturip leathers are very difficult to put in to the proper position, but that is expected for a new saddle. The saddle seat is very cushioned. The headstall is a very nice leather it is not padded but still looks very comfortable for my mustang. The reins are nice and flexible for them being new. The actual sturip isn't the best of quality but again if you are just getting into English it is perfect. Great saddle would recommend to anyone! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I absolutely LOVE this saddle. Not only is the leather a beautiful, supple black, the stirrup leathers that come along with it are superb in quality. It fits my low, wide-withered mare perfectly when most saddles slide right off her, and it's so comfortable to ride in! The saddle is being returned because it is lop-sided. The right side is sewn 1/4" -1/2" further back on the saddle than the left side, making the right side flaps stand out away from the seat. It did not sit evenly on the saddle rack & I wasn't about to place it on the back of the horse.

Absolutely love this set! very comfy and soft the first time I rode in it. The only down side when I was riding is stained the crap out of my breeches and even after a good washing or two there was still a faint stain. So in good warning when it's warm and you are sweating the dye in the set will stain clothing ... show more

For what it is, what exactly as described and performed the job it's supposed. Get my bit used to a saddle. It did just that and came with everything we would need, at a very good price point. Def recommend for starting your horse under tack
