    • The holder material is too soft and releases the bit

The tool looks to be quality made however the looks were deceiving. With the bits pushed all the way into the holder and well secured out of 5 bits 2 came out of the holder while turning aluminum rod and 1 came out and jammed while turning (easy to machine) mild steel. With the steel the bottom part of the holder crashed into the steel rod and mushroomed. It could be that mine missed the heat treating step but I will never know. I am disapointed with this purchase. In the pictures of this they don't show the other side and it is extremly shallow. Anything 3/4 or larger it won't reach through the work piece. For small diameter pieces only.

    • Very, very happy with this parting tool.

Works really well. I made sure it was square to the 1" mild steel round stock I parted off. It produced a clean cut and almost perfectly formed chips.

I own an outboard modifying shop and I cut only billet aluminum and this tool is working great , like all incert tooling can’t “crowd” it and it will work just as it was designed
