  • For my grandson.
It was helpful to him. He was just starting to learn to play saxophone

  • Great Sax starter book
Got this book for my beginner Saxophone lessons. It’s very helpful and has well detailed step by step instructions. I’m doing well so far, and my squeaks are becoming actual notes. This book is worth having and was recommended by my tutor. It has helped me and I definitely recommend.

  • It's OK.
The problem with these tutorial "band" books is that they are generic, not focused on a specific instrument. You can buy the flute, or the sax, or the clarinet, or the trumpet version, but the content is the same.

  • Perfect for beginners
This is a great book for someone just starting to learn alto sax. It's aimed at middle school kids, but I'm 54 years old and used the AoA book for French horn and found it very useful. It teaches notes and fingerings one at a time, with a page of exercises for each. It goes very slowly. You'll still need a teacher to help you with things like taking care of the reed and playing without honking, but this is a great book if you're just starting out. Many teachers use it. ... show more
