  • Almost perfect, but can’t complain for the price.
Color: 64G White-1
I’ve used my Abxylute for maybe 60 hours since I bought it about a month ago. I’ve travelled twice with it, and used it at multiple locations (airports, hotels, friends houses, etc). Here is my experience and review of the device: Pros: -Amazing battery life. If you turn off sound or use headphones, and turn on auto-brightness, then you can easily stream games for several hours between recharge. -Comes with a sturdy travel case that can fit the charging cable inside of it. I can even fit one of my portable batteries inside my case. —The travel case has two zippers, meaning you can charge the Abxylute while it’s in the case. With the battery I have, I can charge it with the battery in the case. -Great screen quality. Never had any issues with glare or brightness, and the image quality is fantastic. -Good haptic feedback/vibrations. -Has decent onboard capabilities for local games when you don’t have internet. I have Minecraft installed on mine, and I can run a few other basic Android games. For me, that’s enough to get me by during those times without a good internet connection (airport, hotel, etc). ** If you’re looking for a device that’s good at running games without internet, look elsewhere. This is not the intended function of the Abxylute and it was not designed for that. For all that’s good about this, there are some significant cons -Battery drain on standby is pretty bad. If you close the app, turn off the screen (not the device itself), and set it down - then you can expect 20% battery drain per day of not being used -Fully powering off the device is easy enough. But I have had multiple issues turning it back on. If I had to guess, it turns on without any issues only 50% of the time. The other 50% of the time, I experience significant issues such as: Needing to select “boot into normal mode” with the volume down button, needing to restart it because it gets stuck on the boot screen, and even one time there was this weird (and sudden/obnoxious) beeping sound. -The joysticks are not my favorite. I generally don’t prefer controllers over KB/M so I may be biased, but these ones can be hard to get fine control of. They feel similar to the joysticks on my Switch but with more “friction” -Right and left bumpers have a limited “actuation” pressure zone. In other words, LB and RB buttons are about 1.5-1.6” long, but they can only be pressed from the outermost half of the button. So when you go from pressing LT to LB, your finger needs to move up *and* out which can be uncomfortable. -Speaking of ergonomics, this thing feels uncomfortable to hold after about 15 mins. If the would have made the grips thicker, this wouldn’t be an issue. I won’t dock a star for this because it’s very dependent on individual hand size/shape and ergonomic preferences. However, it still needs improvement. -For some odd reason, this device *cannot* be charged with a USB Type C to USB Type C cable. I can charge it with my laptop charger, with USB C cables that are Type A on the other end - but not Type C/Type C cables. I believe this means that you also cannot use an OTG adapter to plug in/use USB accessories. Overall I’d rate this 4.75/5 stars but Amazon makes you pick whole numbers, so my review is 5 stars. The cons of this device are entirely outweighed by both the price and the convenience that the device provides, in my opinion. Anyone considering buying this, who does not have experience with streaming games, should know that most of the problems you will run into are due to the streaming service. If you’re streaming games on anything other than a stable low latency connection, you’re gonna have problems. Connection issues, frame skipping, quality loss etc. I would absolutely upgrade if Abxylute ever made a “pro” model. Things like a better SOC to handle local games better, an OLED display, narrower bezels on the screen, a better WiFi chip, etc. Overall, if you’re looking for a low cost yet high quality device for handheld game streaming, this is THE premier device for you. Great for bringing your PC games to a new form factor, and for playing on the go. The price point does mean there’s some trade offs, but the Abxylute doesn’t make any compromises where it matters most. ... show more

  • Better than phone-based controllers
Color: 64G Black
The abxylute isn't perfect, but it's great for remote-playing your console and for streaming any of the subscription game services. I like this better than my old portable controller that clamps onto my phone, as this device's screen is larger and matches the aspect ratio (shape) of a standard TV. That said, I wish that the abxylute had a faster processor and that its OS was kept more up to date. I'm using this controller mostly for Xbox remote play and Game Pass streaming, and it works well with both. Smooth video, minimal lag, and there's even some basic vibration support in Game Pass. The built-in speakers are okay, but you'll want to plug in headphones for best sound. The low profile joycon-style thumbsticks can take a little getting used to, but their hall-effect sensors should prevent any drift issues. The abxylute has access to the Google Play Store (with Play Protect certification), so you can download Android apps to play directly on the controller. However, the processor inside can feel sluggish for anything more than basic mobile games. Most of the time, you'll be better off streaming. The console is running Android 12, but the manufacturer needs to do a better job of maintaining it. Despite a January 2024 build date, the OS patch level is December 2022, which means that over a year's worth of security patches are missing. According the system's update check, abxylute doesn't offer anything newer at the moment. Overall, I'm happy with this device as a streaming and remote-play controller, but its versatility ends up being limited by a low-end processor chip. The lack of security patches isn't ideal either, as it means you'll need to be careful about which apps you install (or just always stick to the official Play Store). Four stars. ... show more

  • Runs Great As A Streaming Device
Color: 64G Black
The media could not be loaded. This is a great little device when used for it's purpose, to stream games from a console or computer. When running applications locally, there are often times laggy loads. I quch there were some sort of built-in magnifier when running games that have a lot of text. It is difficult to read much of the smaller print. You can see from the video (AI testing in Civ VI) that is is pretty unusable due to the text size and tiny icons, so the game of choice makes a difference. When testing BloodHunt (also via Steam), it took a bit to configure the controls for use. I no longer have any other console, so I can't judge the ease of use on other systems. The look and feel if the device is pretty great. It sits comfortably in the hands and does not cause any controller fatigue. The buttons are well placed and intuitive. The OS looks pretty good too. One thing that caught me off guard is that it can only run a single application at a time. That is a great idea, and makes perfect sense for this type of device. The screen is very sharp and vibrant. I do wish it had come with a screen protector, to help prevent damage. It seems pretty resistant ti fingerprints, even with the glossy screen. That is about all I have to say on this one for now. If you are looking for a handheld streaming console with some great built-in features, you may want to give this one a shot. ... show more

  • Works Great
Color: 64G Black
Great device for all your streaming needs, not good for standalone play, but fantastic for streaming. Had no problem with any of the regular platforms, Steam, PS, Xbox, Nvidia, streamed them all well, no problems at all, PS Remote play I used aftermarket app for controller support, other than that, as easy as it gets. Screen is really nice, looks very vivid and crisp, device feels quality in hand, love how balanced and light it feels, quality product, really well made. Looks great, cool slim design, the included case is really nice, easy to travel with and protects well. If you have good internet, it works great, easy to stream anything with it, I've had a great experience with It! ... show more
