These laces are great for roller skating! I have tried multiple brands and most tear easily after one or two skating sessions (due to wiping out and the laces and boot being scraped across the ground). Derby Laces appear and feel like they would be tougher but not in my case. These last much longer, are super easy to lace and are really affordable. I wish they came in more colors but I’ll take less color options over lack of durability any day!

These are nice laces, better than the stock laces that came with my skates. It was unclear in the listing what the actual fiber content is, and now that I've laced them in my boots, I realize I threw out the wrapper. It was synthetic however, I don't recall if it was nylon, polyester, or a combination of the two. I prefer a wider, cotton lace even though they are a bit less durable, they don't give me callouses on my hands from repeatedly tying my skates (or worse: cuts).

They serve their purpose and seem durable enough, but one thing I would recommend (at least it is my personal preference) is to get actual (tightly woven) cotton laces. Actual cotton laces seem to be easier to lace, experience less slippage when you try to tie your skates, etc., and hold longer and better. I mistakenly thoughts these were cotton laces when I bought them (my fault).

I've tried a bunch of different laces for roller derby and so far these are my favorite. They are long enough and are thin... so many derby laces are super thick and I don't like that. Other thin ones I have tried, like Antik waxed laces or Derby Laces Sparks are ok, but they wore out too fast (granted, I lace up pretty tight and have a few points that rub and that is where all my laces start to fray and then break). Nice, quality, skate laces. Make em in red please!

My 3 year old recently started ice skating, and the laces that came with her boots were horrendously long - practically long enough for an adult boot rather than a tiny size 8 toddler boot. It took me forever and a day to get her laced up. Thank goodness you can easily buy quality laces on Amazon. The 63" size (at least 30 inches smaller than the ones that came with my daughter's skates) fit perfectly, with still plenty of enough room for growth and use on other skates as she grows. Word of note: the white laces (the only color available in the 63" length, at least when I purchased) came packaged without plastic and arrived pretty dirty with black dust, etc. from transit. The dirt very easily comes off with water and a paper towel, so don't despair if you receive some dirty white laces. Just take 10 seconds to wipe them down, and they'll be good to go.

The laces I received wasn’t 100% cotton, they were nylon laces. If you’re looking for nylon, these are great for figure skates. I prefer the cotton as it doesn’t hurt my hands as much when tying skates.
