    • Super Cute, but Getting the Backing Off Takes Some Patience

I don't do a ton of decorating for Christmas, but when I saw these I thought they would be a really fun way to decorate my kitchen cabinets. They are super cute. You get gingerbread men, peppermints, candy canes and the long icing borders that can be cut to fit wherever you want to use them. The pieces are a soft felt. They are on the thinner side rather than a thick, heavy felt, but they still have that soft felt texture. The colors are mostly red, white and gingerbread brown. I do wish they had thrown a little green in somewhere to give the color scheme more variation, but they still look cute on my brown cabinets. I may just consider this a starting point and add a little green of my own. The adhesive is VERY sticky. I moved one of the peppermint pieces around several times while taking my photos, peeling it off and sticking it back down in different places. It continued to stick securely every time and came off my cabinet without leaving any residue. That makes me hopeful that I can put these back onto their backing after Christmas and use them again next year. My biggest complaint is getting that backing off in the first place. The waxy backing is cut exactly to the size of each felt piece, and I really wish they had made it even a quarter inch larger or given it a little tab to grab. Every time I tried to get my fingernail between the felt and the backing, the sticky layer initially wanted to stay with the backing. I finally figured out that gently wiggling the little bit of backing I had managed to lift, pressing it back down and lifting it again helped it release. I also found that gently flexing the entire piece helped put enough of a bend in the backing to separate it. I wouldn't actually fold the felt because I wouldn't want to crease it. With 84 pieces, getting all of them separated could become a project in itself. If you have a family decorating together, someone could sit and work on removing the backing while someone else puts them up. I live alone, so decorating all 18 of my kitchen cabinets with these is going to take me a while! At $19.99 at the time of my review, I think you get a lot for the price. I especially like that I was able to remove and reposition the pieces repeatedly without losing the stickiness or leaving anything behind on my cabinets. The difficult backing is the one thing keeping this from being a five-star product for me. I may not decorate all 18 cabinets, but I'm definitely going to have some gingerbread in my kitchen this Christmas. ... show more

    • Obsessed with these
I am obsessed with gingerbread men decorations. I spend wanting something to go on my kitchen cabinets and honestly I may never take these off. These are so cute! They are made out of a type of maybe press board or something similar to that. But I am in love with these!
