Having recently replaced all three spindles on my JD D140, I thought there must be a better way. There was and while I can't speak to the quality if the kit, I have three rebuilt spindles ready to use when required. The job took less than an hour total. Sweet.

I purchased these bearings to do a spindle bearing replacement on a John Deere LA145. They fit perfectly and seem well made. The Prime delivery service was amazing. Delivered in about 20 hours!!!

2 of the 6 bearings had barely any grease in them. my application is a mower deck spindle that has grease zerks, so i planned to remove 1 seal from each bearing from the beginning, facing the open side toward the zerk, so that they could actually be greased. If you are buying these to use as-is as sealed bearings, the lack of grease in some would be a premature point of failure. Can the seals be removed and then reinstalled? I have no idea, i found the best way to remove a seal was to use a dental pick on the inner rim of the seal. I am sure that removing the seal voids any warranty, but that was the plan of my use-case from the beginning. EDIT: a great tool for installing these into spindles is a PVC coupling with a saw cut lengthwise. the couplers at my local store were 1/32" too large of an OD to fit in the spindle, the saw slit let it go in flawlessly. much less likely to foul the aluminum bearing seat with PVC and rubber mallet than the old school method of using a socket as a punch for a hammer. ... show more
