These jeans are of the high quality you would expect of 5.11. However, it's hard to really call them "slim fitting". The issue may be the intended target demographic for the jeans , the soldier/policeman type. These jeans would indeed be slim fitting on a young athletic man with large thighs, like a football player/weight lifter/hockey player type. They are just not all that tight fitting on the average Joe. Otherwise, they are great, with a good pocket layout which holds phone, knife, etc., good stitching. ... show more

Wife got me wearing Wranglers 36 years ago. I thought I'd try these SLIM-fit for the extra pockets. They LOOKED like they were slim enough and with smaller higher back pockets (Wrangler-esque). Nope! very thin lightweight denim. too roomy in seat and thighs. 5.11 you failed this time. We can get better fitting heavier weight jeans for 1/2 the price of these at Wally World bargain bin.. Going back to Wranglers. Although, the 5.11 Defender flex slim fit PANTS that I own are much better quality... ... show more

    • Perfect pants!

These pants are amazing. I normally don't write many reviews, especially for clothes where opinions are subjective and body-type will drive comfort. However, I had to write a review for these. The material is super comfortable. And, I mean SUPER comfortable. I told my wife after wearing these all day that I think I will sleep in them as they are more comfortable than the gym shorts I normally sleep in. The material is somehow soft but also seems durable. There is a good amount of stretch, which is great for tactical applications. I am a blue belt in BJJ and tested several moves in these that require a high degree of movement, without any binding whatsoever. I feel completely confident I could execute a triangle in these, no issue. That is very surprising for "slim fit" pants. The sizing seems true. I wear a 28-30 wide and the 28 fit perfectly. My only minor complaint is that I like to carry a backup weapon on my ankle, and these don't leave room for that. However, the description does say "slim fit" so I wasn't expecting that to work anyway. I can always carry IWB and even have an extra mag thanks to the hidden pockets. ... show more

Without a doubt the most comfortable pants I've ever had. Wore them three days for yard work and scouting for turkeys. Washed them with no appreciable bleeding of the color or shrinkage, so so far so good there. I ordered the Dw Indigo which it turns out is a real weird color. The thighs are faded but from the knees down it looks like you've been wading in water. On top of that the thread is a bright gold which seems ridiculous to me. I intend to order the flex pants in another color. None of this is the reason for the four star though. The four stars is because of the pockets. I love the seven pocket idea. However, I back pocket carry my little lcp in a versa carry leather holster and the back pockets aren't big enough for even this little gun. The "magazine" pockets also need to be a little wider as my I phone 7 in a Pelican case is a very very tight fit. Make the back pockets deeper and the magazine pockets wider, after all they are tactical pants, and I'll give them six stars out of five. Very comfortable. ... show more

I just found my new favorite pants. They are not “skinny” jeans but slim as advertised. I saw a few people complaining on here about that. The moment I took these out of the box I loved them. The wash is great. They are double stitched in the places that normally wear out the fastest for me (the crotch). I work a job that requires me to climb up and down things all day and the amount of stretch is perfect. When I ordered these I was a little curious on the two pockets that are in the back. They do fit a 30 round mag perfectly but let’s be honest I’m not going to walk around with my rifle mags with me to work and other places. What I did find though is it fit my Glock 19 perfectly. There’s a slight handle bulge but no more than any other concealed holster or just the old waist band tuck. It’s not made for a gun but it sure is perfect for mine. I tried a knife and a tactical flashlight in the other and it really does keep it hidden. I get comments on them quite a bit. They truly are a good looking pair of pants that is reliable for any sort of excursion you plan on. Going shooting, work, camping and anything else. I’m going to order the indigo next for sure. These jeans are quality......but why are they trendy skinny jeans? Their customers wear tactical pants, why make skinny jeans? Can I just get jeans that fit like the taclite pants?

My second pair of these awesome jeans. First pair fit perfect to size at the waist but was a little shorter than what my Levi’s typically run (I wear 32X34s in Levi’s). So I went with 36” legs with this pair. As expected, too long, but I just roll them twice and things are perfect and stylish. Favorite feature is the little pocket in the 4:00 position just forward of the rear pocket. J frame diapers inside but leaves just enough grip exposed to make for easy draw.
