These boots are excellent all-arounders. I accidently bought my first pair, when I was about to renew my old boots with ceramic toe. These boots are lighter and provide the same support and comfort, minus the shielded toe. I use my boots everyday, from office to hiking to pretty much everything. Absolutely a recommend for those seeking boots for a multi purpose use. The zipper works flawlessly, but keep in mind that they will leak water as soon as you stand deep in water/shallow river or similar. But if you walk fast in gras swamp, you will keep dry. I have a complicated lis-franc fracture in my right foot, and these boots are comfortable for me to wear for a whole day marching/hiking. I've tried others specifically for foot injuries, that do not come close in comfort, for me at least. I can absolutely recommend these boots! ... show more

I bought a pair of these in a size 14, thinking that would be the right size because it's what worked well in my other 5.11 (insulated, waterproof, cold weather) boots. (I've been wearing tennis shoes in a 13 for many, many years, so surely I wouldn't ever need *more* than a 14, right?) Silly me. The 14 was too small - painfully so. The Cons: These stock shoe Strings are way too short. The Boots are approximately 1 sized to small. If you buy, buy 1 bigger size than you normally where. The side zipper isn't bad but the 3/4" Velcro zipper keeper is too small to work. The Pros: These boots are Durable. In the pictures they show 20+ days of hard use. These Boots are Comfortable. They fit me well (I bought 1 size Larger) The sole is not winterish, but it grabs pretty nice on ladders and slippery floors. The composite toe is strong. The Boots are Lightweight, I've had to do a 24hr shift this month. Feet were not sweaty, clammy or sore. ... show more

I’ve been buying these boots for 3 years now. I’m on my feet, in all types of environments and terrain and they have yet to fail me. They look sleek and professional while offering comfortable support. Water resistant is amazing while keeping your feet from being to hot or cold is a plus. I'll start by saying I've worn boots like this professionally for most of my life, first as career military then in the public service sector. The boots were lightweight and comfortable, right up until they weren't any longer. I expect quality boots to last between 12 and 18 months under moderate wear, unfortunately at about 6-7 months in these guys gave up the ghost. When I say "moderate wear", I wore the boots generally 3-4 days a week, 8 hours a day, both indoors and outdoors. By the end, I was had popped stitching on the uppers and back, and the soles were worn flat on the balls of the feet. I began to have foot pain from the lack of padding and thin insoles. If you're good with buying a new pair of boots every 6 months or so then these are great: lightweight, comfortable, sturdy zippers, good ankle support and initially comfortable, but when they die, they die fast. After I retire a pair of boots I generally keep them around for chores and mucking until the next pair dies and the cycle repeats... unfortunately these guys are going in the trash, they're just not comfortable any more. ... show more
